Team: Hinsdale Central Red Devils

Biggest Question?

Hinsdale Central and head coach Brian Griffin are coming off a very strong spring season, as the Red Devils posted a 6-0 record including big wins over rival Glenbard West and several others. The Red Devils graduated a strong senior class this past spring, yet this program has been highly successful for decades and Central more often than not reloads and doesn't rebuild.

The Biggest Question? Can lightning strike twice for the Red Devils this year?

So the biggest question for the Red Devils in my eyes is if they can reload at a handful of key spots, remain at the top of a very solid conference and find a way towards a back to back conference crown and making a deep state playoff run?

The Red Devils will need to reload in a handful of key spots this summer no question. The offensive line welcomes back three starters this fall including senior Jack McGarry, senior Josh Narcisse and senior Hunter Tonn. The offensive skills will need to replace some really strong players including graduated QB Michael Brescia along with WR Charlie Sesaa and senior TE Ryan Orput. Keep an eye on junior QB Ben Monahan along with senior slotback Thomas Skokna and senior Nick Fahy.

The Hinsdale Central defense also has a handful of experienced names back in senior OLB Sean Allison, senior LB JT Pile and senior Michael McCurry, yet this is another unit that will need to reload this summer.

Also we have tp factor in the revenge/payback factor this fall. I have no question that Glenbard West has been focused on the Red Devils the day after the spring season ended. Lyons Township looks to be improved this summer, OPRF still has a nice core of talent along with York who is still making the climb towards the uper tier of the WSC Silver. Everyone will be aiming for the Red Devils this fall.

Yet can lightning strike twice for Hinsdale Central? In some ways yeah I can see it. The Red Devils program always seems to have talent and numbers, they always seem to be able to reload as well as anyone in the western suburbs and are always very competitive at a high level.
