A bit of a hot take but do we really know how good CG is this year? I know they have a ton of playoff experience and know how to win the big games but they haven’t faced any elite teams this year and pulled out a couple of close wins against good but not great teams. Playoff path has been very easy. Add that to the fact their best player is out for the year and I think this smells like a potential upset is brewing…

Was thinking this today as well. However, their regular season results were even less impressive last year.

Geneva will be the best team they played all year to this point.

Think this will be a dynamite game.

I mean what elite teams did they play last year also? Besides ESL? Coaches have those kids prepared. They beat ESL twice which is an elite program. Those kids believe in the coaches

CG is not good. Geneva can take off the week preparing. In fact, Geneva should start their second string. :p

I have a hot take, I know it’s a whole different season, but last year CG had 2 losses in the season and beat Geneva 41-7, how much better is Geneva from last year? Last years CG team wasn’t expected to make the finals, but this year they kinda expected to make a deep playoff run.

All these games have been at ESL:

2013 Richards 7 ESL 6 (Richards wins despite negative yardage for game.)
2019 ESL 60 Richards 0
2021 ESL 54 Richards 0
2022 ESL 71 Richards 0
2024 ??

It’ll come down to the weather. Yes, Geneva will have difficulties with the triple option but CG will have difficulties with Geneva’s passing game. Thing is, will Mother Nature allow the Vikings to throw the ball.
