And 5-4s don't belong in the playoffs?
I have and I’ve seen him run down field several times and never touch a defender. Including that last Pat try.
He’s run for 6 scores and broken a bunch of records. Clearly he has been getting blocking.
5-4 against teams they should be playing against. 5-0 in playoffs playing down a class or two
I’m not sure if the gravy had too much salt or if you truly made a mistake. Either way you said that wrong…5-4 playing up a class or two or THREE and 5-0 against the teams they should be playing.
The offensive and defensive coaching or play calling on Peoria's part was good all day. The complete lack of a kicking game was the difference in this game in my mind. The on-side kicks left Naz in great field position all day. I don't think anyone would argue that Peoria had great athletes.
Naz is multiplied up to 5A this season. They won 4 playoff games in the 2019-2020 cycle. The reason they were in 7A in 2019 was because of the success factor. They were “success factored” up 2 classes in 2019. That obviously went away when they didn’t win a trophy in the 2020 or 2021 seasons and are now back to their original multiplied enrollment class.

No matter what, a 5-4 team winning the state championship is a huge accomplishment. Congratulations to Nazareth!

I think they should feel fortunate for being in 5a this year. Not sure they would’ve gotten a desired result against SHG.
What a stupid post. I’ve broken down a lot of Peoria film this week and #40 is a huge difference maker in that offense. I didn’t focus on the FB today but to say Peoria did a poor job blocking is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever read on this board, and that’s saying a lot.
Congrats to Peoria on a great season and an unbelievably well played game today. They would rather have the trophy but they earned a ton of respect from me and many others.
Naz has won in 5a, 6a and 7a. Spare me. Tell us where we’re going and we’ll be there.
We? Aw here we go again. You think SHG from last night would lose to this Naz team this year? You know the one that played today? Not taking about past years or we, yesterdays SHG, yesterday as in last nights 4A game against Naz today. The one that just played. THATs what I was referring to. Was really hoping I wouldn’t have to explain that.
same could be said for SHG and Provi. They have all been in our won 4-7a playoffs. SHG this year beats everyone in 5a imo

The moment you start talking down to people is the moment you can expect your questions to become hypothetical.
If that’s your take then I apologize as that’s not or was not my purpose of the post. I was making a rather simple point that I think SHG is better and had Naz been in 4A they wouldn’t have won a title. Hope that clears it up.
I hope you were coaching in the game otherwise it’s hard to imagine a bigger waste of time.
I was not, what I do with my free time shouldn’t be a concern of yours. I enjoy watching HS football and there’s thousands of us on this board but I’ll wear the weirdo badge.

Things like this bother me. Clearly the kid is a top talent. Does he not fit a specific size and speed narrative? If I’m a college coach I’d love to have a kid like that on my roster.
2025 will be the first year that there is no scholarship money earmarked for the NCAA Covid rule (automatic 5th year eligibility, guaranteed 6th year of education expenses). Until then, a lot of very good football players will not be able to get what they could in a ‘normal’ budget year
