Impact Player for Oswego East
Oswego East and head coach Tyson LeBlanc always seems to have at least a handful of higher level talent on the roster year in and year out and the 2025 roster, despite the loss of one well known name to the transfer portal the Wolves still have some key names to watch this summer and fall. On the offensive side of the football keep an eye on senior WR Lincoln Ijams along with senior RB Jasiah Watson who both are multi-year starters for the Wolves and also key impact performers. Defensively, senior DE Lamari Hall has the look and physical tools to play at a high level in college.
Looking for a sleeper name to watch for Oswego East? Oswego East senior QB Niko Villacci will be asked to lead the talented and experience offense this summer and fall for the Wolves, and a big key to winning the conference and getting into the post-season will be Niko Villacci this fall.
EDGY's Preseason Thoughts on the 2025 Oswego East
Oswego East is looking to get back into the IHSA state playoff field this fall after missin g the playoffs in back to back seasons in 2023 (3-6) and 2024 (4-5). The Wolves program, led by veteran head coach Tyson LeBlanc has been able to get the Wolves program into a pretty consistent winner in his tenure. The Wolves as mentioned lost a terrific underclassmen player in sophomore ATH Darin Ashiru (Batavia) who is drawing recruiting looks and attention at receiver and defensive back, yet this program unfortunately has seen several top athletes come into and out of Oswego East over the years....and in most cases the Wolves have lost some terrific players to area Catholic schools. I look for Oswego East to once again challenge for a state playoff bid in 2025 and to also be in the hunt for the SWSW conference title race,
The biggest question facing Oswego East this summer?
Can Oswego East finally get over the hump and make a deep run in the IHSA state playoff field this season? The Wolves have had regular season success, yet this program has also been limited in the post-season for a program that has been playing football for 20 seasons. Again this program always seems to have talent on hand more often than not, and I truly believe that one of these years things will come together and Oswego East makes a quarterfinal and higher showing sooner rather than later.
