Impact Player for Moline:

Moline and head coach Mike Morrissey had quite the athlete drop on them last year when former Pleasant Valley (Iowa) junior TE/DE William DeParpe (6-foot-6, 225 pounds) transferred into Moline for the spring semester. DePaepe, who is a three star ranked defensive end recruit by Rivals.com is a really good sized, long and lanky athlete will no question have a major impact on both sides of the football in 2023 for the Maroons.

EDGY's Quick Take on the 2023 Moline Maroons:

Moline last season won the Western Big 6 conference title and posted a 8-1 overall record with it's only regular season loss coming in Week 2 to Benet Academy. The Maroons then made it into the Class 7A state playoff field, beat DeKalb in Round 1 then lost a heartbreaking 34-31 4 OT Round 2 game in Yorkville to the Foxes to end the 2022 season.

The biggest question I see for Maroons in 2023? Can Moline replace the graduated loss of offensive production which includes a handful of key play makers led by RB Riley Fuller? Can Moline also reload at a few key positions this summer (QB/OL/DB) and remain at the upper tier of the Western Big 6? I feel that the Maroons are a program definitely on the rise and look to be in line to against challenge for the WB6 title and to also make more noise in the post-season this coming fall. I will say the Maroons wind up with a 7-2 record in 2023 and will also be a team to make a bigger climb in the Class 7A playoff field.
