Biggest Question facing Minooka this fall?
Can the Indians reload at a few key positions this summer? Minooka will need to find a starting quarterback, and keep an eye on junior QB Gavin Dooley who has a canon. The Indians defense will also be in search of four new starters in the secondary, yet this program has never been short when it comes to the talent level and overall numbers. If Minooka can reload at those spot this summer they can become a very good team this season.
Impact Player for Minooka:
Senior WR Malik Armstrong (NIU) gets the slight nod here. Armstrong is a long and lanky receiver who will just keep getting bigger and stronger from here on out. Armstrong still has room to improve and become more of a dominant game breaker type and sure looks like he's ready for a huge 2021 Fall season. Senior WR Trevor Hudak is also another big time receiver and weapon to watch for Minooka this fall.
EDGY's Quick Take on the Minooka Indians:
Minooka will no question rely on a big and very physical offensive line this coming fall, a line that features a handful of potential FBS/FCS level names. The Indians offense also has two terrific game breaking receivers in NIU commit Malik Armstrong and WR Trevor Hudak. If the Indians can settle on a starting quarterback along with replacing the entire starting secondary which graduated this spring, this team have the makings of becoming a strong contender for the conference title and beyond in Class 8A.
Game to Watch this Fall? Week 5 @ Oswego
The Indians and the Panthers have become quite the rivalry game over the past handful of seasons. Look for Minooka to have extra motivation in this showdown after Oswego pulled out a last minute win at Minooka this past spring. This game will also be a big barometer for the remainder of the Southwest Prairie West slate.
