Biggest Question facing Edwarsville this fall?
Can the Tigers get over the hump and finally beat rival East St. Louis? Edwardsville lost two games in the spring season, both at the hands of rival East St. Louis. However, the Tigers definitely was able to take away several positives from those two losses which should help Edwardsville to prepare for the Flyers this fall. The Tigers roster has some key impact names coming back and this will remain one of the top big entollment school programs outside of Chicagoland this coming fall.
Impact Player for Edwardsville: Senior OL/DL Nasim Cairo. Cairo is one of a handful of returning linemen back for Edwardsville this fall and Cairo is a name who can and will play on both sides of the ball if needed this fall. Cairo is a leader on and off the field for Edwardsville who will be asked to help this team get better over the summer and beyond, and Cairo has the physical tools to become an impact player once again this fall.
EDGY's Quick Take on the Edwardsville Tigers: I was able to see Edwardsville live this spring and I came away once again impressed with the Tigers program. Edwardsville took on a much more talented and deeper East St. Louis team and was able to improve in both meetings this past spring. Edwardsville will need to replace some key names especially in the offensive skills but they also bring back some key names on both sides of the lines. Keep an eye on 2023 QB James Distaso-Hutchins who is a big., strong kid with some upside to play at the high level in college.
