No offer from Texas yet is...interesting
All.... He had an offer from Illinois before playing one down in high school. One doesn't see that happening often. RatsyAll the Defensive Coordinators in the CS8 breathed a sigh of relief when he moved to Texas.
Rochester had a very good Defense in '23 when Johnson was a Freshman at Decatur MacArthur. They did a very good job of containing him, except for one play. A missed arm tackle in the backfield around midfield allowed MJC to get outside and in the blink of an eye he was in the endzone.
All the Defensive Coordinators in the CS8 breathed a sigh of relief when he moved to Texas. He might be produced in IL but Myson Johnson-Cook is going to finishing school at DeSoto, Texas. He has been hyped here before, for good reason. This 2027 5-star is 6/3, 220 and runs a 4.39 and apparently, a 10.3 hundred so far this season.

And a Green Knight! It's always a good day when we can get a Blue Streak mention on the Edgy board!
StL’s days of 4A football are over. Vikings will be in 6A or 7A this year. No more waiver and enrollment has gone up by 300-400 students since the last two year cycle.Zero research done but here are a few sleepers/team you'd prefer not to run into come playoff time:
8a: Marist
7a: DGN / Batavia
6a: Naz/ESL
5a: Rochelle
4a: St Laurence
True, to an extent. While they wouldn't be favored in any of those years, they would be competitive (compared to several finals games in recent years) every year except for 2019 and probably 2017.Moeller would be an 8A school. They are all boys. Their adjusted enrollment is 2900+. Gonna guess they would fare much worse vs the LA, MS, and LWE's of the world.

Gonna guess they would fare much worse vs the LA, MS, and LWE's of the world. While I agree, it made me curious so I looked into it, mainly to see where a historical national power team would rank against Illinois teams during a down year.
Putting Moeller up against the state champs in 6A for all of the years mentioned above, minus 2020. I put them in 6A because the enrollment number I could find for Moeller was 891 and applying the 1.65 multiplier Illinois uses puts their enrollment at 1,470. Below are the results according to Cal Preps, for what that's worth.
2015
Moeller 26
Montini 20
2016
Prairie Ridge 41
Moeller 20
2017
Prairie Ridge 34
Moeller 27
2018
Cary-Grove 24
Moeller 19
2019
ESL 46
Moeller 14
Given these projections they would have only been dominated in 2016 and 2019 and I feel like it's safe to say that a down Moeller team would still be competitive in Illinois. Yes, they could have, and likely would have been knocked off prior to the title game I wasn't going to reconstruct the entire bracket.
After this pointless bit of boredom on my part I still say MC by at least 2 scores.
While I agree, it made me curious so I looked into it, mainly to see where a historical national power team would rank against Illinois teams during a down year. From 2015-2020 Moeller had down years, going
2015 5-5
2016 4-6
2017 4-7
2018 6-5
2019 2-8
2020 3-6
I highly doubt they are winning state in Illinois in any of those years.
Ignatius played Walter Payton in 2014 at Toyota ParkLooks like John Carroll and St. Norbert played there in 2013 in a D3 game.
If I am not mistaken, there was one year or several years where the Preseason Prep Bowl was moved from Soldier Field to SeatGeek (or Toyota).
A google search also tells me Fenwick played BR there in November 2010 for the Catholic championship for the right to play in the Prep Bowl.
Would be great to see a BR v Batavia game for the ring.BR should be multiplied under the new rule. I would assume they remain in 7A
Wait you are telling me you don't want to run into the defending 5A and 6A champ and perennial power(s)???????Zero research done but here are a few sleepers/team you'd prefer not to run into come playoff time:

7a: DGN / Batavia

All.... Yes I had checked that as always using past numerical class breakdowns. Likely a large 7A although they are close to 8A. RatsyBR should be multiplied under the new rule. I would assume they remain in 7A
BR should be multiplied under the new rule. I would assume they remain in 7AAll.... Edgy the Ihsa chart shows all of the teams that will be multiplied for the 2025 season. The Crusaders are on it. Having read that new waiver rule (again lol) if a team wins one postseason game in the past three seasons their enrollment is multiplied. BR won two in 2022.
I believe those 2025 enrollment numbers for the privates show only the actual figure and then in May the Ihsa comes out with the 1.65 add on and the eight preseason class breakdown. So 1322 x 1.65 gets you 2,181.30. They get the double whammy since it's an all boys school. Enrollment is doubled (1322) and then multiplied? Can you confirm? Thanks. Ratsy
