I agree. York should be in over Glenbard West, IMO. I think a lot of these AP writers simply go off historical name recognition, and not the current team on field performance
The frustration with the no-week-to-week context polling led to the birth of the great DSR that the esteemed @JCHILLTOPPERS ran until he joined an Amish community with no internet service.
 
Same with Glenbard North, should be top 5 in 7A. Soucie has them as smallest 8A in latest projection however.
Perhaps some schools need more "hype" on the boards. That's all I can think it is. I may be wrong or misguided, but it appears voters are only watching teams they write about, and they only write about teams in areas with high levels of subscribers. So for all others, they depend on social media "buzz" and historical success.

I think that works both ways. I don't think Edgy works that way, but I definitely think some of the others are biased (negatively)towards the schools "fans" that question their rankings.

I agree - and definitely did not mean to imply Edgy does his this way. I was speaking specifically about the majority of the AP writers who vote in this specific pole.
