Geneseo (5-4) @ Chicago Sullivan (9-0): Geneseo got itself a pretty good draw and I think has a shot to make the quarters, but first it has to take care of business as the Leafs take a field trip to Chicago to face a Sullivan team who’s defense has pitched 4 shut outs, but the offense has not put up a lot of points late in the season. Geneseo needs to lean on it’s run game and not have any second half defensive collapses.
Prediction: Geneseo by 3 touchdowns
Addison Trail (7-2) @ Moline (7-2): Moline is coming into the playoffs on a 5 game winning streak with an offense that has been clicking behind a powerful wing-t running attack with play actions passes getting behind the defenses. The Maroon defense has been up and down, giving up 21 or more (30 or more three times) points to playoff bound teams. Moline will be tested straight out of the gate against Addison Trail.
Prediction: Moline by 1
Argo (5-4) @ Quincy (9-0): Quincy hosts an Argo team that has won and lost in streaks this season, starting 3-0 then dropping 4 straight before winning their last 2 to get into the play offs. Quincy needs to come out focused and let it’s high powered offense run wild. Two things Quincy needs to work on if they want to make a run is the defense needs to stiffen up (it surrendered 31 points week 9) and Bradyn Little needs to make sure he protect the ball.
Prediction: Quincy by 4 touchdowns
Sterling (5-4) @ St. Francis (7-2): Sterling is probably getting sick of seeing St. Frances as they played them twice last year, including a 49-8 drumming in last years playoffs. Getting a week 10 game though is a big accomplishment for a Sterling team that is very young (starting 2, sometimes 3 freshmen on Fridays). Sterling will go out and play hard like they traditionally do, but their time will come a year or two down the road. Til then, it’s just gaining experience.
Prediction: St. Francis by running clock
