Teams with most Returning Starters

@kpjasion , Palatine has a decent amount back right? I think Fremd has 6 or 7 on offense and maybe 5 on defense
Palatine is gonna have similar numbers, but they're key people- the QB, starting RB, two top caliber WRs, two stud OTs and a guard. Defense loses alot, though there are a couple of DBs, a couple of good LBs(one returning from injury) and a nose tackle and edge. Offense may even get more weapons from a couple of guys who will be sophomores- like everyone will know Brennan Wright's name by the end of next year. I think the MSL West comes down to Palatine vs Fremd again next year. Barrington loses alot.

With MC 8A next season, hopefully we draw a road playoff game at Pirate or Viking. Have to hit Nellie's pre-game.

Sterling should have 6-7 on both sides of the ball. Will still have quite a few younger kids. The two biggest losses due to graduation will be at WR and QB.

That is a lot of athletes coming back… other than the Quincy game, they played everyone respectively.

They might go on a solid run next year

I was there. Doesn't seem like that was over 17 years ago
As was I. I think Ken Rossi was the star QB on that team? I also think it may have been Donnelly's first playoff team. Bringing the Pirates back from a ten year or so period of not making the playoffs.

Matt Rossi. He was not quite a "star" yet, but the first solid QB in some time. Plus, we were a run heavy team. It was indeed his first playoff team. It was ten years.

My bad.. Pirates memory haze.. I was combining Ken Stopka and Matt Rossi :p

I didn't want to summon sources very close to the coach to pontificate on how said coach was ABSOLUTELY CLEAN and the only way this would have happened if it was totally organic without any recruiting involved
Privates don’t like being beat at their own game, especially if it’s all above board. Prove otherwise. You can’t but you will try to validate your objective. Gobear25 you are a rookie here trying to be a big fish. In reality You are just a guppy with a big mouth.

No way, both transfers just showed up one day without coach Z knowing...
I have no doubt that Coach Z and the rest of the LWE - LWN alumni and students were surprised and most people on the team have still not been informed of the transfer.

It’s a complete and total surprise that has happened organically…. 2 years in a row

Whose LWE???? I thought they changed their school name to LWIMG

Last year I leaned towards the LWE Phenix Griffin's

But I think that the Ascender's has a better ring to it

Interesting comment...so you admit now that you guys are recruiting like privates?
What I don’t get is why this family would up root and move to play at another public school when they could just enroll at a private school and don’t have to move. I will repeat what privates always say whatever talking about recruiting. Prove the school did anything illegal. Listen I am not stupid that stuff like this is going on but prove recruiting was being done. Prove that the family isn’t living in there district. Until you can then it’s just accusations. Privates don’t like being beaten at their own game. Why didn’t he transfer to a private school?

What, game of recruiting? Well you are saying LWE beat out private schools in recruiting an athlete….hmmmmm.
I am saying private schools didn’t get this kid because he moved into LWE district. Why didn’t privates get him. Apparently they lost out on one. Never said LWE recruited him we have no proof they talked to him. 😊

Moving is required to transfer to a Private as well I don't know why you don't think it is. I'm sure they rented an apartment within the district and they probably kept their Libertyville home, but a temporary address change to that district is all that is required. And that is the same for Catholic to Catholic or Public to Catholic/Private, a move is required and if it is Catholic to Catholic the other school needs to sign off in many cases as well. He moved into the District so he is all legit to play. The Daily Southtown did a article on him and he's played 7 on 7 with Williams for 2 years and was friends with him for years and with Shambow graduating Libertyville and his only offers so far MAC schools they felt this was the best decision. Which is totally his right, he didn't have to lie and say financial hardships or anything, he wanted to play with Williams to get better noticed so they moved. People may not like it and be bitter grapes but it is what it is.

It costs money - and he is chasing his 7v7 teammate, who is the top rated player in the state to deliver the ball to him. Makes total sense.
