I'm trying to guess what football may look like if we get a spring season. Fall sports were recently told there would be a 1 week regional postseason with a $100 dollar entry fee for any school wanting to participate. Basketball Tournaments all across the state are getting cancelled so they can adhere to the new scheduling guidelines which I understand as you can only play games within your region unless they are conference games. Schools like Neuqua Valley were told to go by where their district office is located so despite the school being in Will County they'll be grouped in with the DuPage teams region. Some schools were told they can schedule 30 minutes outside their region if need be to fill the schedule. Not sure if that applies to every school, every region or just specific situations. If you look at the regions and if you go by class some regions have 1 or 2 teams in a particular class. Some have over 30. This isn't anything the IHSA did. The IDPH set up the 11 covid regions. What would be the best way to do postseason given these rules. Basketball can seed teams and play a regional championship tournament in a week. Football cannot, so what's the best way? Coach/Media poll to vote teams in. Exhibition/Bowl Games within region for the 1 postseason week we'll likely be given?
