Q of the Week: Who is the Player of the Year (so far)

5A game is at 10:00am and 6A is at 1pm. If you had a choice, which game would you want to play in?

On a more serious note, Mascoutah is in 5A and has a real chance. After ESL and BW won basketball in 19, the area would like to spread out the representation over as many classes as possible. The best team in the state is strictly someone's opinion and can never be proven.
It actually can.... if Illinois had an "open class" that you petition into in some type of yearly increments. IMHO

Althoff won some hoops recently.

But yeah, Mascoutah has some money to spend. I’m picking Mascoutah to raise a family in well over O’Fallon. I know too many cops down there and that’s not a place I’m putting my money. Scott Air Force Base has enough influence or Mascoutah that shit ain’t gonna happen there.

Going back to the original point of this thread, Mascoutah’s qb Hanson hit 40 touchdowns on the year last week with a 7 score performance.

I still nominate LB3. Here are his stats from regular season play:

21 TDs and two 2PATs
49 Catches for 776 Yards
12 Punt Returns Averaging 35 Yards
54 Kickoffs Averaging 52 Yards
14 Punts Averaging 43 Yards (And two or three TD on fakes, EFFING daggers!)

And this dude draws the BEST cover GUYS, always doubled. Even against Bosco and IMG, he was the best on the field (that IMG RB was a load too, boy!). Those schools threw their best guys at him and he shined. Not to mention CBC and DeSmet (sadly, geographics pits them rounds 2 in MO), are damned good.

That's four tough games. Despite going 2-2, who else in IL has had as many heavyweight fights this year? LB3 was ALWAYS the best player on the field who impacted the game the most.

With that resume, Esteemed People of the Jury, you must see, it has to be LB3.

I think LBIII is probably the best player in the state, and I would say he was the best player on the field for every game except the IMG game. I know he only played a half because of all the nonsense but that RB was just dominant and with the exception of the fake punt TD, Burden didn’t put up a lot of stats that game. I’m not sure his stats would hold up to a QB’s stats, especially when he sat a lot of the time when they were up big, but unfortunately that’s what a lot of people look at

For the record Maurice Edwards had 29 carries for 129 yards against MS. They did not take the ball out of his hands. He cramped up late in the game and eventually he came back. He is a great RB and I even said he could be the POY after playing them. But after finishing the regular season there are probably a few better candidates.
