Call it a sleeper team or even a team that could present issues......who is that team to avoid?

An example? Brother Rice to me has a ton of high level talent back, will be dropping down to 5A and I just get the feeling the Crusaders could be a very tough team you want to avoid in 2025.

You? Post them here.

BR, Providence both loaded with young talent and will be tough to beat. That BR schedule is a juggernaut though. Playing in the CCL Blue with Rita as one of their crossovers and playing Valpo and Marist for their two non cons.

All.... Edgy the Ihsa chart shows all of the teams that will be multiplied for the 2025 season. The Crusaders are on it. Having read that new waiver rule (again lol) if a team wins one postseason game in the past three seasons their enrollment is multiplied. BR won two in 2022.

I believe those 2025 enrollment numbers for the privates show only the actual figure and then in May the Ihsa comes out with the 1.65 add on and the eight preseason class breakdown. So 1322 x 1.65 gets you 2,181.30. They get the double whammy since it's an all boys school. Enrollment is doubled (1322) and then multiplied? Can you confirm? Thanks. Ratsy

BR should be multiplied under the new rule. I would assume they remain in 7A

I wouldn’t want to run into Maine South. They’ll be battle tested with a tough first 4 games to open the season. Purcell is a stud and they always seem to reload at the skill positions and O-Line. Not a team I would be happy to see come Late October/November

With the loss of AC Cartalano for another year , could definitely effect BR 2025

I think that DGN might be playing at a level that is going to surprise a lot of people

This senior class Hass been talked about since their 7/8th grade years

They made it to the finals their sophomore year, but injuries got in the way last year

It would surprise me to see a healthy team make the finals this year

Respectfully, I don’t think DGN is gonna surprise anyone…they’ve been on the radar for two years now.

Thinking York. Yeah, the Dukes lose a lot from the last two years, but they've established a winning culture. I'm sure the players on the lower levels have been watching to see how to have sustainable success at the varsity level, and IMO they should be good again.

Sophs went 9-0 last year if im not mistaken

Souc has Batavia as 6a. Could that be they dropped that much in enrollment ?
They stayed relatively the same, which my source explained to me was surprising. They should be Mainstays in 6a for a few years. I think they are going to be bubble 6/7 this year

Would be outstanding to have them as a mainstay in 6A.

The Geneva vs Batavia rivalry is already back in full force and if they are both in 6A...they will play each other most years a second time in a win or go home environment.

Would love to see 6A go 1-32 seeding and see ESTL come up north and have to get through some of these teams but overall...6A is about to get much more interesting. great for IHSA football

North
Geneva
Batavia
Libertyville
Cary Grove
Antioch ( ;) )

South
JCA
Naz
ESTL

They just have to figure out where they want to lose in the semis, LaGrange Park or the city of Chicago
With MC no longer an obstacle, Batavia could finally make it, in either 6A or 7A. I hope they do. They have a dynamic young quarterback in Vander Luitgaren, who set the 7A title game passing record as a sophomore--against Jack Elliott no less.
