Palatine 21 - MS 28 F

Palatine defense getting murdered by the skinny post
They're doing the same sh#t SCN did. SCN exposed a weakness and MS is picking at it. Until we prove we can stop it, they'll keep doing it.. and why wouldn't they?

Refs.... called something .. god knows what.. when we were 4th and 1 at MS 20 yd line that killed a drive(missed FG), and then that insane PI on a ball twenty feet over the receiver's head helped them.

This, unfortunately, is not a ref problem. I would say the 1st half was "uninspired" from the Palatine side of things. If that continues they are going to have a rough season

Another 80 yard drive for the pirates. Zero passes. OL dominant. 20-14.

Pirates with a big stop on the next drive. Palatine ball on their own 36. Big drive here. 1:09 left in third.

They're finally showing signs of life. Two years ago was a 20-19 Palatine win. 21-20 would be really nice here

Home cookin? Come on. Good luck with the rest of the year!

Not home cooking, that's Inserra working the official all game to clutch flags. Don't like it, but it's gamesmanship

Also, Palatine was sleepwalking the first half. Not going to earn many W's that way

It was 12 men in the huddle.

And it truly was pass interference. In high school rules, the ball doesn't need to be catchable for a foul to occur. You can't make contact when the ball is in the air. The Palatine kid clearly did.

Home cooking? Palatine is lucky that their kid didn't get booted for that play when the MS QB took a knee.
He should’ve for sure. Absolute intentional cheap shot. Believe Palatine coach pulled him afterward. Palatines middle on runs and passes was open all game. Palatines #7 never could get much going despite close to 30 carry’s or receptions. MS Def staunch just couldn’t stop Palatine’s long drives and wildcat in short yardage situations. Both are good teams…

I think what he was referring to was when the Palatine guy's jersey was literally torn on the 58 yd run, and then later on another run late 4th that kinda sealed things the would be tackler came to the sidelines with his shoulder pad out of his jersey. The Palatine stands felt like some pretty blatant holding by MS was not called on plays that decided the game. The late hit was incredibly stupid, but it was after an MS defender rode Fager into the bench on our side(which was called) and during knell down time.

That said, Palatine lost with some less than inspired play and some head scratching play calling - the intermediate passing game was working, so let's start chucking up some bombs - smh. They'll need to improve to be on MS's level..

Maine South loses their QB in a week 1 loss. Then they beat two powerhouse 8A teams in consecutive weeks with their backup QB. Time is a flat circle.
MS has lost QB1 in weeks 1 or 2(for all or most of the season) five of the last six years! The one year we didn’t we went to State. Football is brutal.
