Edgy, how about some specialist love. IHSA doesn't give any. 1/3rd of the game is special teams. I'm sure in your long career covering high school football you've seen special teams win or lose a number of games.I select my teams from Class 5A thru 8A.

The DL ranks are loaded. Lee from Nazareth Academy, Marist has two legit All State kids, then Shannon as well. Those are just tackle types... all dominant HS players

So you need a special teams all-state team: Kicker, Kick Returner, Punter, and Long Snapper. I know you have K/P on your list be they are two different specialties and need to be separated. In the MC vs LZ game LZ's punter absolutely was a factor in that game. Pinned MC deep including a 78 yarder. Kicker is important because if you can kick touchbacks you're never kicking the ball to the other team's best player to return. Plus, kickers tend to be at the top of their team's points scored list.
You absolutely have to add a long snapper to the list. Long snappers were the key to two state playoff games I watched. MC vs Normal, PAT snap was high and allowed the game winning block. MC vs ESL, snapper snapped the ball over the punter's head and gave MC ball on ESL 12 and lead to a TD. With frozen hands and a wet ball in the MC vs LZ game LZ's long snaps were ugly looking. MC's long snaps were smooth and fast and the pressure of snapping into their own end zone was added.
It may take a little more effort to get this list but with the importance special teams plays I think all aspects of special teams should be recognized.
Sure, but that one would be really hard for Edgy to determine unless he spend time watching a lot of tape. College has a special award for the holder but it's voted on by all the other holders since they all watch the opposing holder during film and know what they're looking for.How about the holder on PAT’s?
