I know the MC/DGN stream changed about 3 times 24 hours before the game, but here is the info off an MC page. Good news is the game will be streamed! Bad news is it’s off of NFHS as the IHSA said no to the You Tube. BUT the good news to that is the CBN (Caravan Broadcasting Network) will be using there equipment and announcers and broadcasting the game with the same quality, they hope, as the stream on You Tube. Many of you seem to have the NFHS so your set.

This is obviously financial. They let BTRV stream it on You Tube last year and they saw the thousands that tuned in and the NFHS realized they lost multiple thousands of $ possibly. And with the 6pm start time it’s the only game on and with the weather, people who don’t have a subscription will pay. All about the dough Joe!

So frustrating they can force something like this, especially at a private school!

If the IHSA wants to stack all the Catholic schools on the same side of the bracket (randomly, yeah right) then when two Catholic rivals play each other they should get to broadcast it as they want!

Do you have specific information? I've been to every MC page I can imagine and got nowhere.

That’s about as specific as I can offer you. It will be streamed on NFHS. All I can offer is what I’ve been told. You can email the AD if you want confirmation from the top.

Technology has advanced so much that NFHS is obsolete. Somebody at IHSA must be getting a kickback. Who signed the contract and what are the terms?
As I've said before, NFHS is owned by the state organizations.

The technical skills of most high school students exceed those of NFHS, which didn't refund my money when they botched a pair of playoff games. Why does it exist? What does it provide?

The broadcasts at most schools on NFHS are either run by the school or via the automated Pixellott system. For playoffs, the NFHS will hire crews to carry the games for schools that don't have the equipment or their own crews. I can send you links of games I've produced and you'll find them all to be high quality. I covered the LWE/NV game last week and people were saying nothing but good things. Bad quality productions now are usually either a bad crew that has bad camera work or poor internet at the facility.

Okay, I'll take your word for it. Thanks for the insight.

NFHS Broadcast rules from IHSA football guide. NFHS has first rights with their schools.

IHSA Tournament Managers/Hosts,
The advent of greater broadcasting technology has brought about many new potential internet broadcasting partners who may contact you seeking to broadcast the postseason IHSA events you host.
The IHSA’s official broadcast partner, the NFHS Network, has the first right to exclusively broadcast any postseason IHSA event. If your school streams on the NFHS Network, via either the School Broadcast Program or a fixed Pixellot camera system in your gym or stadium, then you are encouraged to exclusively stream any/all postseason games you host. Additionally, if an NFHS Network school competing in the postseason tournament you are hosting would like to broadcast on the NFHS Network, they should be given exclusivity to do so as well. The NFHS Network also partners with several third party media companies, who should be granted the same exclusivity to broadcast as a school.
If you as the postseason host are not an NFHS Network school, and no competing school contacts you about broadcasting on the NFHS Network, at that point, a third party can be granted the rights to broadcast the event on the internet. In this instance, a broadcast rights fee is due to the IHSA. The internet streaming fee schedule is listed below. Potential broadcasters should be directed to complete and submit the IHSA Broadcast Application form from the IHSA website (TV fee schedule also located in this application), which can be found here:
www.ihsa.org/documents/media/Video%20Ap.pdf
If at any time you ever have questions on the fees or any other matters related to broadcasting or media, please email/call Matt Troha at the IHSA office (mtroha@ihsa.org or 309-663-6377).

I found this out searching on NFHS:

NB - if you only subscribe for one month, be sure you cancel in time, or it's another $12 automatically. Note, too, that any games on nfhs next week will be available to you as well.https://www.nfhsnetwork.com/events/ihsa/game9d18647f1

I look forward to seeing the MC/BR NFHS stream. It will be top notch.
They do a wonderful job…. Why is the stream “buffer” free on YouTube however when they plug the equipment into NFHS it’s absolutely horrible? Useless is a better word to describe NFHS. It’s nothing but a constant circle spinning most of the game. Please explain!

And how much does YouTube charge the schools? I'd bet nothing. IHSA does an excellent job of keeping stats and records, but they don't demand the same excellence from NFHS, or at least they haven't in the past.
