LZ

Stortz should go back if given an opportunity. LZ is and always will be a big time football school.

Agree. I heard rumors the last go around in 2017 he might be interested. Now would be the perfect time. They have a QB he likes, an athletic runner/thrower, and probably one of the most highly recruited LBs in the state (Sanborn).

Can't imagine the district would even consider bringing back previous head coaches from the "poop show". As we know, some of that was embellished and incidents mentioned during the Stortz era were sketchy at best. Administrators just wouldn't do it. Stortz got Conant into the playoffs last season...one of Conant's best years in awhile and he's turning things around there. Plus, would he jump into another job again? That would be his 3rd jump since leaving LZ originally. Proffitt is the DC at the Och....and they look to make another run in 5A/6A and there's no way they would bring him back to LZ after that national debacle (just or unjust). Plus, LZ has a couple of qualified candidates in house (defensive side) that would be solid contenders for the job. This late in the game, things get tough.

You also have a 3 time state champion coach roaming the sidelines at Fremd as DC. Pearlman would be a great fit for LZ( and also remove the chance he replaces Sponsel at some point at Fremd)

Pearlman was the OC for LZ in 2011 and that team was one play away from another trip downstate. The offense was very, very, good that year. If the starting QB was not hurt they would have won it all. That was the year LZ beat Glenbard West with no quarterback--just a punter and the LZ defense.
