Teams Under Consideration for the Preseason Class 6A Top 10?

Antioch- The Och (Ok I know it's Sequoits) will look to reload a bit this summer after graduating a strong senior class that posted a 10-1 season and made it to the seconds round of the 5A state playoffs. The Sequoits still have some experience back in 11 returning starters (6 offense 5 defense) including RB Martin Cohen FB Wyatt Ertl and three starting OL back....the Antioch poer run game should be a strength.

Blue Island Eisenhower - The Cardinals will need to replace departed head coach Sheamus Murphy (Sandburg administration) but does welcome back 13 returning starters (7 offense 6 defense) led by senior standout WR/S Andre Lovett (Illinois) while sophomore OL/DL Sincere Harris is already drawing college offers.

Cary Grove - The defending 6A state champions hand head coach Brad Seaburg welcome back 9 returning starters (6 offnese 3 defense) and none as valuable as junior FB/LB Logan Abrams who was a powerhouse runner in the Trojans option running attack. The Trojans defense will be green with just 3 starters back but this prpogram reloads as well as anyone in 6A year in and year out.

Glenwood - The Titans and head coach David Hay went young last season and started several underclassmen all back this fall. The offensive sills in particular wilkl be a strength led by QB Colten Knoedler and several quality backs and receivers. The Titans looked good at West Aurora last week and I'll see them liove again in mid July.

Simeon- The Wolverines are looking to get the Sinque Turner era underway this fall. Simeon will lean on it's talent inclusding 4 star ranked senior DE Christopher Burgess Jr. plus senior QB Kaleb Sims while the rsoter will more likely than not have some additional names to watch incoming this summer.

Crete-Monee - The Warrioers and head coach John Konecki played a ton of underclassmen in 2023 and this has the makings up developing into a nice team to watch this fall. Crete Monee will bring back 15 returning starters (9 offense 6 defense) and junior WR/DB Jayden Marshall is already drawing offers and is one of severa big play caliber names to watch in 2024.,

Deerfield The Warriors and head coach Steve Winiecki ended up 4-5 in 2023 and just missed making the state playoff field. Deerfield also was done no favors getting moved from the Central Sub South from the North in 2023, yet the Warriors no question competed. Deerfield welcomes back 15 returning starters in 2024 (9 offense 6 defense) and if they can get to 5 wins in the South they can make some early noise in 6A.

Dunlap- Tne Eagles and head coach Brett Cazalet welcomes back 11 returning starters (7 offense 4 defense) and several key impact performers are also a part of that group. Dunlap junior 4 star ranked TE/DE Mack Sutter has offers from basically every school in the nation this summer and the Eagles will lean on up and coming junior QB John Bargen.

East St Louis - The Flyers just truly reload year in and year out and will again be a force in 6A and also state wide in 2024. The Flyers will lean on sophomore QB Kendrick Lyons who will be asked to fill in the monsterous shoes of graduated QB Pops Battle. The offensive line is a strength in 2024 and the overall skill position depth is just highly impressive.

Geneva - The Vikings and head coach Boone Thorgesen welcomes back 13 returning starters including 9 starters on offense. Geneva senior 4 star ranked WR Talyn Taylor (Georgia) is truly an impact player and if the Vikings can reload in a few key spots (QB/DL/LB) they can challenge in the Dukane conference and beyond in 2024.

Kankakee - The Kays a.so bring back a ton of experience this fall (18 returning starters back 9 offense 9 defense) and head coach Miles Osei has already begun to make an impact on the Kays football program after just one season. Keep an eye on Kankakee senior OLB Kennyan Chandler (EIU) along with senior ATH James Stampley Jr. this fall.

Lake Forest- The Scouts always are a threat in 6A especially since they play "up" in the Class 7A sized North Suburban conference.

Lake Zurich- Da Bears welcome back 13 returning starters inckuding 4 starters back on a strong offensive line led by senior OL Jacob Wilk while the defense is led by senior DL Nate Snep plus 4 returning starters back at linebacker for LZ.

Libertyville - The Naughty Kitties (Ok I know it's Wildcats) welcome back some key names for the 2024 season including senior OL Myles Batesky and junior WR/S Blaise LaVista is the best player you might not heard of just yet....but will this fall.

Kaneland - The Knights will need to reload a bit this summer especially in the skills department...but the program always seems to find a way and keep an eye on junior OL/DL Jake Buckley this fall.

Providence Catholic- The Celtics played a very young lineup in 2023 and that should begin to pay off this fall. Head coach Tyler Plantz will rely on junior QB Leo Slepski who's looked good this summer and the Celtoics are stacked with a ton of impressive underclassmen skills including sophomore ATH Jaylin McMillen while on defense senior S Gavin Hagan is an other key nmame this fall for Providence Catholic.

Niles Notre Dame- The Dons are always hanging around and always in the hunt and could play a spoiler role in the Class 6A field. Senior ATH Luke Olson (Illinois State) is an impressive name to watch this fall.

Oak Lawn Richards- The Bulldogs welcome back 12 returning starters (5 offense 7 defense) and features some big names including senior RB Myles Mitchell (NDSU) plus the Bulldogs entire starting DL is back this fall.

Washington- The Panthers begin the new era as longtime assistant coach Todd Stevens takes over as longtime head coach Darrell Crouch has retired. The Panthers welcome back 11 returning starters (7 offense 4 defense) and will again be a factor in the Mid Illini race this fall. Keep an eye on junior WR/S Adrian Jones who has D1 athletic tools and ability. Jones started his high school career at Washington, transferred to Bolingbrook and is now back home at Washington.
