Lemont 15 Naz 10 final

The schedule is not kind to Naz. Someone said it earlier, if there ever was a must win 2nd game, this was it for Naz

Definitely tough losses but Naz’s starting QB left the game after passing for two touchdowns in game one right before the half. We had the lead then. Didn’t come back in and didnt play last night. They started a freshman who had never taken a varsity snap. He did his best given the circumstances. Marist will be tough for sure but QB (yes my son) will be back on the field so should be a good game.

The MCHS-Naz matchup we have all been pining for is looking like a potential must win for both teams, based on upcoming schedules. While it doesn't have the fire of 5 years ago, should still be entertaining.

In past years there were great teams at both schools. Now both are playoff hopeful.

I see a mini playoffs already happening with Montini, Naz, NND, and Benet.

Benet kept their playoff hopes alive with a big 23-21 win over Moline this week after losing to NN in Week 1. They have Rice and Rita on the road the next two weeks. Then, they end the season with JCA and Naz. As it stands, they still don't have a Week 7 game, since they were scheduled to play St. Joe's. If they can't get a game in Week 7, their playoff prospects look rather grim.

Replacement team for st Joe’s in week 7 cancelled right before the season and Benet will have a forfeit win in week 7 if a game does not become available.

This is an incorrect statement. If the ihsa had the game on the schedule yes but they currently only have Benet with 8 games.

All I know is what was told by the AD and head coach we had Mater Dei on the schedule to replace St Joe’s and their new AD cancelled it

Pretty sure they are keeping it open in case someone else has issues with a game that week, as has happened already around the state

Wow, just saw the video of the final play... How do you possibly have single coverage on the outside and let the receiver get behind everyone.. Just cannot happen. That's tough, felt like that was a must win game for the Roadrunners and they basically had it in the bag. Naz has the talent, they just have to put it together. They have some absolute stud athletes. Marist this week will be tough, as will the remainder of their schedule. Seems like the playoffs have already started for a few teams in that conference.

Finished 5-4 ....ended Montini and Benet's hopes of playoffs. Now in the quarters. They managed to turn things around considering the rough start.

I think it’s a response to the guy that was ripping Naz early in the season.

As quickly as 9 weeks go by for the spectators, it is a really long time for the teams.
For solid programs there is so much room for learning, adjusting to the Varsity level, maturing, moving the parts around, growing as a team, etc.
Successful programs progress.
Others often lose the kids by week #5 and everyone just goes through the motions and eagerly await the week #9 game to end it all.
Naz's 4 losses were against teams that are still alive.
They may stumble against Fenwick, but they have come a long way and as they are young, their season is a success.
