In all seriousness.....with the upcoming 2025 season approaching just take a look at several of the top kids from the 2026/2027 and 2028 classes who already have serious high level offers and commitments. I've been trying to tell others not in Illinois that the next few seasons could be an all time record for Power 4 level talent here....just a look at the CCL alone and we are talking about a TON of kids already with offers.

Class of 2027- So far we are listing 41 kids with offers.

Class of 2028- So far we have 10 kids listed with offers and I'm expecting several of those names to emerge this early summer.

Lots to talk about and to look forward towards over the next few years.

Thoughts? Post em here

I'm glad you said this, because I thought I was getting carried away. Some of these individuals are potentially generational also

Last years QB’s (fantastic class) seem like an appetizer for what is hitting the field this upcoming year

I do think the talent level is much higher, but aren't more offers going out in general?

High School Football saw a big increase post COVID. Flag football and travel 7-7 has helped HS players get better quicker.

It seems like with the transfer portal and these kids pulling commitments left and right and bouncing schools, offers and being made at a unbelievably high rate and they all can't be commitable offers.

Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear when it comes to Twitter. So many young kids have these huge offers as freshman and sophs only end up at lower-level schools or walking after their HS career is done. The amount of less than truthful Tweets is staggering.

Is it less than truthful tweets or less than truthful offers?

Edgy, how much reclassifying (hold backs) are you seeing currently? It seems to be gaining a lot of momentum in many sports.
Some private football position coaches are really pushing this right now as the key to getting a scholarship. I guess when you are paying that much money you will do what ever they say.

Do you think the younger positional development has prepared kids to play on varsity at a younger grade level?
I think it has put more emphasis on training for a specific position earlier than ever before.....and if that means getting to varsity earlier and more ready than so be it but it's just a part of the picture. 5-7 years ago the only real positional off season training you had was QB's and even then it was much more limited. Now we are seeing grade school kids training year round etc. didn't have that here until the last few years. I also feel the teaching and instruction has impoved as well as having more overall positional trainers.

Greg Holcomb's kid did this and I believe he's going to Wheaton St. Francis this fall as a freshman QB. He just got a Michigan offer as an 8th grader.

appears to be a stud.

Based on some of the comments here…

Will we see some of the “offers” made into a future video like this???

Let's say that the increased amount of off season programs and positional development for players younger and younger has been a factor in my opinion.....

While I am sure that can help, players are also doing this in the other 49 states. Why would Illinois be the one seeing the bump?

reclassified already. Never was in 8th grade.
Why would someone do this?

If you’re in junior high and already have a Michigan offer, you’d think you’d want to get to HS asap to prove yourself and play better comp.

This kid came to my attention bc my cousin said Holcomb’s dad is trying to get a bunch of kids his sons age to stay in jr high an extra year and then all go to the same HS together. Hope that’s not true.

Sounds like a super well adjusted adult

This is becoming his pitch to many of the kids in private lessons with him. It’s definitely turned off some kids and parents to point that they found other coaches.

If he was smart he would find a bunch of kids whose birthdays are after November and hold them back two years. Then they could play when they should be sophomores in college as Seniors.

This is the case already there will be some college prospects that will be driving freshman year of high school in the next few years.
