Does anyone know if Terrell Alexander stepped down? Are there any front runners? I still think that it could be a good job with the right coach,
Gotta wonder if HF alum Adam Lewandowski, about 10 years HC at Andrew after many years assisting at Crete-Monee, would give it a thought?Does anyone know if Terrell Alexander stepped down? Are there any front runners? I still think that it could be a good job with the right coach,
Also, a full-sized all-weather turf practice field along with a 40-yd artificial field INSIDE the fieldhouse separate from the track oval.Edgy has it as an opening.
Amazing opportunity!! Their updated facilities and staff are awesome (top notch weightroom and fieldhouse). Their Strength and Conditioning Coach and his PE staff are one of the best in the country in building athletes. Plus, their Track and Field team is loaded with speed.
I actually know Lewandowski and he would be a great hire.Gotta wonder if HF alum Adam Lewandowski, about 10 years HC at Andrew after many years assisting at Crete-Monee, would give it a thought?
Since the 90's, only Wrenn and Buzea have led this program where it should be, at or near the top of 8A. How this program does not have success is a travesty to high school football. All the facilities. All the athletes. All the resources. Nothing is missing...except coaching. They've missed on more coaches than they've hit. Need someone who can build a culture of winning.I am putting my money on Dontrell Jackson.
Parallels to Bolingbrook?Since the 90's, only Wrenn and Buzea have led this program where it should be, at or near the top of 8A. Different demographically and socio-economically than HF by a lot.Parallels to Bolingbrook?
(SEE "ENVIRONMENT" TAB?)Different demographically and socio-economically than HF by a lot.
You can the differences on this page. Good find.
Isn't Tillman a FBI agent? Some interesting possibilities here. I think McAlister would be trading apples for slightly more athletic apples making the move from Sandberg to HF, depends on how happy he is and how happy they are with him. Nissen is definitely going to land somewhere. He did well with the talent he had a STL but they were not successful against the CCL Blue Bloods and their playoff success was in 4A, he would be put in 8A here. James I think should apply. The stable of talent he had at MP is graduating and not sure what they have in the Cupboard, but he's clearly shown he can coach talented players. Kuska is married to Rita, he could have left years ago for the Burbs but he stayed. Depends on how much he misses it but if he does I would assume he would just be an assistant at Rita. Some good candidates/those who might/should apply: Troy McAllister, Adam Nissen, Todd Kuska, John Holocek ( in europe), Chris James (a wild idea), Blackmon, K3 coach, Peanut Tillman
If indeed these are the final two, challenging decision demographically along with the fact one of these men is an alum.Hearing Adam Lewandowski (Andrew HS) & Miles Osei (Kankakee HS) are in the running. Any other frontrunners for this job?
Andrew runs the Veer. Would that be his intent too at HF and would it be accepted. Not saying it wouldn't work but will the players and staff be open to it?If indeed these are the final two, challenging decision demographically along with the fact one of these men is an alum.
Excellent observations.Andrew runs the Veer. Would that be his intent too at HF and would it be accepted. Not saying it wouldn't work but will the players and staff be open to it?
Why not, I'm sure he isn't the only one. We don't know that candidate list. HF = resources, talent pool, feeders, good conference, etc. Anyone should jump as high as they canOsei looking to jump ship again? Sheesh
This isn't college footballWhy not, I'm sure he isn't the only one. We don't know that candidate list. HF = resources, talent pool, feeders, good conference, etc. Anyone should jump as high as they can
Exactly this.This isn't college football
HF stipend pool is way deeper than some think.Exactly this.
People talk about open HS football positions like it's college or the NFL. I can't speak for how it works at private schools, but at public schools the vast majority of head football coaches are also teachers in the school so it's not like the administration is just out looking for a top level coach they would also need an open teaching position for anyone that comes in. Those that do only coach more than likely also have a full time job because the stipend given to the head football coach isn't a full time salary.
10k for being the HC isn't outrageous. For reference, Grant HS is almost 13k next yearHF stipend pool is way deeper than some think.
So how deep is it?HF stipend pool is way deeper than some think.
So it’s a problem for someone to want the best job available in their profession? That’s an interesting take.Exactly this.

There is no problem with people wanting what's best for them but when public school teachers are jumping districts some districts won't start them out on the same spot on the pay scale as the previous district and they are often losing tenure. There are a ton of details to work out above and beyond is this guy a good coach and most of those details have been negotiated by the new district's teachers Union so it's tough to get around them.So it’s a problem for someone to want the best job available in their profession? That’s an interesting take.
Not nearly what I was saying and in illinois being a HS football coach is not a profession. Like I said the stipend to coach at a public school might top out at around $50k.So it’s a problem for someone to want the best job available in their profession? That’s an interesting take.
Who in Illinois is getting 50k stipend from a public school? Not nearly what I was saying and in illinois being a HS football coach is not a profession. Like I said the stipend to coach at a public school might top out at around $50k.
Yep, sausage fingers and trying to watch Bowl games not a good combo when attempting to type. $10k is what I meant, especially for a new coach in year 1.Who in Illinois is getting 50k stipend from a public school?
