The worst kept secret in the Northwest Suburbs just came to fruition as Gould is named the new head coach at St. Viator.
Lotta new faces in the old ESCC (NW side) next season. The worst kept secret in the Northwest Suburbs just came to fruition as Gould is named the new head coach at St. Viator.
It’s because we have none. 🤣Guess he didn't see the public school advantages at Rolling Meadows?
Is TNT going with him?The worst kept secret in the Northwest Suburbs just came to fruition as Gould is named the new head coach at St. Viator.
That’s at least a 2 class jump imposed on Viator for the 2025 seasonThe worst kept secret in the Northwest Suburbs just came to fruition as Gould is named the new head coach at St. Viator.
That is an odd comment. Would you take a new job if you received a better offer? Maybe he has ambitions of coaching at a higher level and thinks this is the best route. It's hard to root for this guy. Poor optics.
How do you know its a better offer? He doesn't really need the money obviously. So what makes it better? That is an odd comment. Would you take a new job if you received a better offer? Maybe he has ambitions of coaching at a higher level and thinks this is the best route.
Having seniors turn in equipment before the playoff week, telling the team it's about being a family while applying for different jobs, etc. Why?
Well there probably paying him more than the 10-15k stipend he would get a Rolling Meadows. Though being a multimillionaire, I would guess the ability to legally recruit from all over made it a better job then a potential bump in pay.How do you know its a better offer? He doesn't really need the money obviously. So what makes it better?
That's all fine, but something does rub me the wrong way for him to have taken the RM job in the 1st place then. He didn't need the money, so unless something was deeply wrong with administration at RM, leaving after one year seems sketchy. This isn't the NFL or major CFB. If his coaching career is his priority, he should have tried to break into those places. HS coaching should still be largely about the kids, and now the kids at RM are getting their 3rd coach in 3 years? Not great, IMHOI will give some reasons besides recruiting and money that this might make sense.
1. Easier chain of command. Private schools it is easier to talk to the decision makers. District 214 has 6 schools that answer to a District office and a School Board. Good luck making changes to culture following those restrictons.
2. Considering Coach Gould would most likely never move to be with in Rolling Meadows school boundaries, coaching at a private school allows him the opportunity to coach his own kids down the road.
3. Viator already has in place a strength and conditioning program. That will take some work load off Gould's shoulders.
4. Just maybe he is a man of faith and beleives in a religious education.
With all that said, I do not feel it will make much of a difference with him as the Coach at SV. They will continue to be a middle of the road team in the CCL/ESCC.

Or that RM didn't want to look like a doormat, Gould didn't want to look like he deserted the program, so they agreed to say it that way 🤷♂️In the article announcing his departure from RM, the school said it was a mutual parting of ways. One can only take that as if they weren't a good fit together.
"We are grateful for Coach Gould’s contributions to Rolling Meadows High School over the past year and for his role in fostering the growth and development of our student-athletes. As we mutually part ways, we do so with respect and genuine well-wishes for each other’s future endeavors. Mustang football has a proud tradition of excellence, and we remain committed to building on that legacy. The search for a new head football coach will begin immediately, with the position to be posted next week."
and he wasn't a good player, he was a good kicker . 🤣ducks for cover
How do we even know he'll be a good coach? Being a good player does not necessarily make you a good coach. I.E. Mike Singletary, Bart Starr, etc.

Finally someone said it^How do we even know he'll be a good coach? Being a good player does not necessarily make you a good coach. I.E. Mike Singletary, Bart Starr, etc.
Watch it dude, after he gets laughed off the porches in Fremd-land, he's gonna go for the prime talents of U46Finally someone said it^
As kicker he had a lot of downtime to view the game from a coaches pov instead of a players' pov. That and the lesser likelihood of CTE gotta help a little right 😅and he wasn't a good player, he was a good kicker . 🤣
WOAHHH WOAHHH NOT THE BARTLETT FRESHMANWatch it dude, after he gets laughed off the porches in Fremd-land, he's gonna go for the prime talents of U46
