Ok. What’s the deal here???
There is no such thing as RPO blocking. RPO is a scheme not blocking technique. The RPO makes O Linemen soft and reliant on help. When I was at Glenwood, Mike J and I preached getting physical and if possible use the "Man blocking" rules when a player was having no problem with his gap/man. We always had one OL that was a punisher but we didn't have 5 at one time during my time at Chatham. If you don't get in the chutes and find out how much fight you have in the dog, as a coach you may be setting yourself up for failure. On a side note: I have seen, too many times, where a team can NOT get 2 yards when they needed it and that is all ya need to know about RPO blocking.

You can run an RPO offensive scheme and have tough/hard nosed blockers as well.
The Philadelphia Eagles have probably been the most heavy RPO team in the NFL the past few years. The RPO makes O Linemen soft and reliant on help. I don't watch the NFL (or NBA) but I have seen, via social media where pro teams struggle to get short yardage when needed. I will tell ya one thing. A team that goes back to man blocking, power running with a FB, TB and Big strong TEs will have success in todays NFL! Imagine a running back like (if possible) Earl Campbell and those types playing in the game today. If DHenry was used in an old school offense he would destroy records and teams. The Philadelphia Eagles have probably been the most heavy RPO team in the NFL the past few years.
They’re also known for having a very good line and are basically famous for being able to get a yard or two when needed.
RPO is zone blocking and its weak AF!The Philadelphia Eagles have probably been the most heavy RPO team in the NFL the past few years.

All..... Quit the gnashing of your teeth Mr. gloom and doom. One game at a time as they say. By the way the Rockets will pound U High. Not much film out and about on the Pioneers but I have seen enough. My opinion of course. RatsyRochester came in to the game playing like they were going to be handed a win. They were lethargic and looked confused. Carlson and Beal were under pressure constantly because the Rocket O-Line was porous and lazy. The Rocket D was dismantled by superior play calling by the Titans as well.
DL needs to get whatever ails them figured out. At 2-2, the Rockets are in danger of not even being playoff eligible with U-High, SHS, and SHG looming.
Credit to Coach Hay and the Titans...great win for their program!
With the rainy week, and I haven't seen much of the Pioneer games, I am wondering if they have a running game to get thru Rochester. Or is their QB good enough to get the ball past the weaker Rocket secondary?All..... Quit the gnashing of your teeth Mr. gloom and doom. One game at a time as they say.
