It’s Christmas, Thanksgiving, and St Patrick’s Say all rolled into one. To say I couldn’t sleep last night was more like I was a kid anticipating Christmas morning.
Today marks year 48 for me in terms of my involvement in HS football in this state. My excitement is multiplied (sorry bad choice of words) 100x by the kids that will put on that fresh clean jersey and the freshly logo-stickered helmet.
It’s my favorite day of the year and I can’t wait to get started.
For the 500-plus programs in this state you’re all 0-0 with dreams of starters by that journey to Champaign to be best in class. How fortunate all the kids and coaches are and how fortunate we as fans are as well.
