Impact Player for Chicago Brooks:
Junior WR/DE Julian Johnson (6-foot-5, 200 pounds) is a transfer in from Metea Valley who no question will raise the overall talent level for Waubonsie Valley this fall. Johnson, a multi-sport athlete has great size and length and will be a big target in the Warriors play action passing game this season. Look for Johnson to also be used at times on defense, and Johnson is a track kid who also has very good speed for a kid with an oversized frame.
EDGY's Quick Take on the Chicago Brooks Eagles:
The Eagles (6-4) made the 2021 IHSA Class 5A state playoff field and lost to Rockford Boylan in opening round action to end the season. The Eagles and head coach James Daniels IV will make a big time move this season, leaving the old CPL Big Shoulders conference for the newly realigned CPL Red South conference, a conference loaded this fall with the likes of Morgan Park, Kenwood and Simeon. The Eagles will need to reload a bit this summer including filling in at some key spots including QB/WR/DB. The biggest question facing Brooks is can the Eagles raise it's game this summer to match and compete well against several of the elite programs in the Chicago Public League this fall?
