One issue is players not playing in the bowl games because they want to get in a month of training to show what they got before the NFL draft and avoid injury.

These games have been trash and you want more? 8 is the perfect number for the playoffs.
With 8, it could allow for neutral sites for the 1st Round leading to closer games from that standpoint, too?
Unfortunately for SMU, the starters were the ones in the game for all 4 quarters, while only achieving for at most 3 of those.

If you put the best teams in you are fine with 12. If you put automatic division Champs in this is what you get. It’s the playoffs not about division champs. It’s the first year of the playoffs the NCAA will get it right. The best team will still win this year.

The only conference champ to play so far is Clemson. This is all 2nd (PSU, SMU, Texas), 3rd (OSU), and 4th (Indiana) teams in their respective conferences...and then ND
Well every team in the playoffs are happy they are not in the playoffs. there are only a few teams that I believe might beat Alabama. I Oregon, OSU, Georgia, Notre Damn, Texas and Penn State. I believe Alabama would be a tough out against any of those teams. Maybe they lose but it would be a game.
