Chicago St. Rita at Rockford Auburn

Well if SR turns the ball over a lot it would be easy. If they don't they might win. Remember if the PC coach takes a knee SR is not in the playoffs.

CCHS=Corsairs=ESCC=Rocks=Shamrocks=St. Pats=ESCC=4-5=CCHS scratching his head.

Nothing about Rockford Auburn in CCHS' question.

Would be nice to chuck the ball on first or second down once in a while, just to be a little less predictable.

Pass defense can win games, particularly with 30 seconds or less left in a game...work on it next year!

from twitter sounds like on sr last drive turned ball on downs at ra 13 yard line. was a field goal not an option?
That's wrong info. They were stopped on RA's 31. Wind was 20mph against Rita, so they went for it on 4th down

BTW, big shout out to WIFR and the Cube for a great broadcast. I watched it on my smart TV and there were no hiccups at all. Former Boylan basketball coach, Mike Winters on the play by play!

Pretty incredible comeback by Auburn. Earlier in the thread Cap'nBill mentioned that they are well coached and don't lose their cool if they are losing and sure enough Coach Appino had his players believing until the final whistle.

That's awesome auburn!! I was out watching Cubs game and couldn't get game good enough to watch on phone. Last I saw 14-0 Rita

What I find hilarious is all the backhanded comments implying Rita would walk away with this game.

Rita gave that one away. Wow.
I'm more amazed at how many turnovers this team has had in just the last three weeks. Can't win in the playoffs when you fumble this much. I'm sure you can recall Rice's choking of a big lead last year up 17 with a quarter to play.

I think St. Rita had 3 fumbles and threw 2 picks. Most costly was the fumble that was returned 85 yards for a TD. Huge momentum swing. Mustangs seemed to be very confused on the 2 point conversion on Auburn's last TD- we counted 13 players on the field resulting in a illegal participation penalty and half the distance to the goal. St. Rita let this one slip away after being in total control.

Congrats to Rockford Auburn and their victory. Good luck in the rest of the playoffs!

Will there be a rematch with MC in the Prep Bowl? Will be interesting to see how the Rice, Laurence, Fenwick, Joes and Loyola games shake out today
