I know it’s a game no one cares about but just wondering if anyone has a score or stream? Interested in that frosh QB.

My adopted parish sent all of last year's girls vball team to Kenosha Joe, whos filling up the slack at light brown carmelite?

Congrats to the Corsairs on getting that first win. And couldn't have happened against a better school!

Enjoy your first round playoff exit...
The dons have also beaten us the past five years. I don’t really think it’s a football rivalry any more. The dons have been too good for us to beat. And it doesn’t look like it’s going to stop with the freshman killing us and the sophs beating us also. Basketball is another story at least that is competitive.

It’s a rivalry it has its ups and downs, ND has been down and come back and the same will happen for St Pats

When was the last time Pats has had a streak of dominance in the rivalry similar to what ND has had?

Both teams seem to be pretty much irrelevant these days to the point that ND was not multiplied and St. Pats made the 2nd round what, once since 2003.
Not a fan of either school. St.Pats has not been relevant in football for the last 5 years.ND is never relevant in the playoffs so who cares.

Didnt ND make it to the quarter finals 3 years ago? Its also hard when you are playing teams with enrollment in the 2thousands. Same thing with Marist and the other 8a/7a schools in the conference.

Yeah, they had a decent run in 2012 in 6A, when they had a multiplier waiver. ND's or Marist's preparation for the 8A playoffs is not helped by playing a conference schedule comprised of 5A to 7A schools.

That is when they were in 6A 5 years ago.

ND has been a fairly consistent presence in the playoffs but has had trouble getting anything going. Over the last 11 years, they have qualified 10 times with the following results:

2006: 7A, lost 1st rd to Libertyville (10-1) 31-13
2007: 7A, lost 1st rd to Rolling Meadows (9-2) 37-0
2008: 8A, lost 1st rd to Bartlett (12-1) 10-7
2009: 8A, lost 1st rd to Glenbrook South (9-3) 28-27
2010: 8A, lost 1st rd to Maine South (12-2) 47-0
2011: 6A, lost 1st rd to Batavia (12-1) 35-28
2012: 6A, won 1st rd vs Grayslake N. (8-2) 46-27, won 2nd rd vs Steinmetz (7-3) 35-8, lost q-finals to Lake Forest (9-4) 31-19
2013: 8A, won 1st rd vs Fremd (6-4) 28-14, lost 2nd rd to Loyola (12-2) 24-0
2014: DNQ
2015: 8A, lost 1st rd to Marist (9-4) 17-14
2016: 8A, lost 1st rd to Palatine (12-1) 34-0

Have had some close calls but also a fair share of blowouts. Needless to say, a school like ND should really be playing in 6A, but it is what it is.

Oh ND should definitely be in 6A. The only difference with most of the schools in the ESCC is that ND and Pat's aren't co-ed.

ND should not be 6A, they should try getting a 9-0 or 8-1 record so they play a team with a worse record and so they play at home. Look what happened when they played Fremd.

They are playing by the same rules as everyone else. If they can’t win playoff games it’s due to coaching deficiencies, certainly not for a lack of recruiting.

They should have beat Marist a few years ago in the first round but coaching definitely cost them at the end of that game. Biggest bonehead coaching decisions in that game.

As opposed to playing who then? Marist's preparation for the post-season seems to have been just fine over last 9 seasons or so, a credit to the ESCC and competitive non-conference scheduling.

Conference affiliation is determined by many factors. Football is but one consideration. However, from a purely football perspective, Marist would do well to play schools of a similar enrollment to prepare them for the 8A playoffs. Marist's record under Dunne:

2008-09 8A Q 9 3 Pat Dunne
2009-10 8A Q 2 11 3 Pat Dunne
2010-11 8A Q 6 4 Pat Dunne
2011-12 8A Q 7 3 Pat Dunne
2012-13 8A Q 8 2 Pat Dunne
2013-14 8A Q 9 4 Pat Dunne
2014-15 4 5 Pat Dunne
2015-16 8A Q 2 9 5 Pat Dunne
2016-17 8A Q 8 2 Pat Dunne

They've made some impressive runs, and they've also had some very quick exits. It's my contention that they would be better prepared for the playoffs (and thus have a better overall record), if they played more 8A teams in the regular season. Of course, they won't see but one in the ESCC (ND). And they don't play each other every year.

Okay, in a perfect world yes. However, there are only two Chicagoland Catholic conferences, both with only 2 8A teams each? Local, out of conference game options are limited these days, with most schools (both public and private) searching for those 5 wins. Which leads many to early season out of state games, for better or worse.

Also, quick exits are disappointing for any team but upsets and/or tough game one playoff match-ups happen.....part of the game. My guess is Marist nation is very happy overall where the program stands these days, with or without many regular season 8A games. It eventually gets real, real fast...for everyone.
