Bolingbrook now looking for a Week1 game for 2023 and 2024?

Why are players leaving the BB Raiders? I know they have a new coach but heck so does LA. Is LA losing kids?
Couldn't say for sure, but two very different environments. What I can say though is that Ivlow went out of his way to get kids on to the next level. Maybe there has been a shift with a brand new coach learning the ropes.

You cant compare Loyola and BB situation. Just this past year BB had Robinson from Montini and Miller from Nazareth transfer in and they were a first round exit with all that talent. If the rumor is true about the QB leaving, in this day and age of the transfer portal, thats more than enough reason for those talented WR’ s to leave .

Cross Bones is awful quiet. He likes talking shit about ppl no longer on the board but he is quiet when presented with the truth. For years Bolingbrook has been overrated.Hard for me to be too hard on them since I love all the old Illini 8 & Sica teams

Loyola’s retainment of players has been excellent over the years. If you see Loyola’s sidelines they have 110 players, they have about 80 players that don’t see the field that can go down the street to New Trier or over to Notre Dame or St. Pats but they stay. I think hiring a known coach from the staff and with strong LA bloodlines will insure it remains like that for awhile.....unless they start losing which I don’t see.

Well then I' d like to see JCA pick up that Maine South game.
Preferably neither MS or Brook gets any takers. But should Brook pick up someone (I think OPRF has an opening week 1) then I'd like to see JCA play Maine South.

I've heard JCA is opening up with Iowa City next year
I see that update on 8to18 just now. Still no week 2 listing, so that will be interesting to see how they round out the schedule.

Maxpreps shows Iowa City to be 6-4 this past year with some lopsided wins and some lopsided losses. no idea what to expect, but with weeks 3-6 being a gauntlet, they absolutely can’t start 0-2 and even 1-1 would put them in a real tough spot. Will be very interested to see who week 2 ends up being.

Seems as if someone had a recent suggestion for JCA for Week 2:

Would be great to see. Always an electric atmosphere for those two, and it’s even better when it’s week 1 or 2.

That said, PC with their recently downgraded schedule has nothing to lose by adding another tough game. JC, with their recently beefed up league schedule, runs the risk of adding a 5th loss in a tossup game like this.

This is not to say they shouldn’t schedule it. If the staff feels they have a 6 or 7 win team even with the likes of Rita, Marist, and Francis already on the schedule, then go for it. But if they have any trepidation about getting to 5 wins, then they need a Hurricane Peter McNeeley cream puff.

I don’t yet have a feel for what I expect from the team, so it’s hard for me to say whether they need an emotional neighborhood rival or a cream puff in week 2. I guess if you feel like Iowa City, ND, Leo, Marmion, and Ignatius are probable wins, you go for it. SF is likely a toss up and Marist and SR should be favorites.

So it all comes down to how do you feel about Iowa City, ND, and Ignatius. If the consensus is that they should handle those teams and JC should be a 5A favorite, load up in week 2.

JCA - Providence Catholic is on for week 2 per PC twitter. Like JCA, PC traveling to play an out of state team (IN) week 1. (Edited)

FYI
Lake Central does not have a good football program. They are bad. 4-6 record last year and 3-7 the year before. This is a cupcake game to play out of state. Just saying.

All.... Some postseason playoff school numbers from the past.
5A.....
2019 - 770 - 1238.00
2020- DNP
2021 - 812.50 -1303.00
2022- 862.50 - 1287.50

The Celtics new two year enrollment average (multiplied) is 1296.075. So this game with the Hilltoppers might be a one and done should NLP when the qualifiers are announced end up in class 6A play. Ratsy

I thought lake central would have the benefit of large enrollment and being in a good demographic convergence. Do the 2 MCs and Andrean pick off a lot of potential players or do they lack the grit of Lowell and other programs further S and E?

Why would it be one and done if PC is in 6A?

Any matchup deemed a “Holy War” should absolutely NOT be a 1 and done lol!! Let’s hope these schools keep each other on schedule because I think this would be an amazing annual game with bragging rights for the student-athletes.

Kudos to both schools for delivering this treat to the area and the state.

This tells me JC thinks that have some dogs this year and expects to be contending for a 5A title. The way it is supposed to be.

If PC has the same expectations to be contending in 5A or 6A, this game should be a great one in week 2.

Weeks 2-6 for JC go PC, SR, ND, Francis, and Marist. If they lose to PC and SR, then ND becomes an absolute must win. Hoping they take care of business and win week 1 and then at least split the PC/SR gauntlet.

It will certainly depend who returns for "City High" but having watched parts of some of their games online, they appear to be well coached --- play with good technique and offensively showed a solid spread system with a quick release QB. Presuming they return talent and have players step up, it should be a good week #1 match up.

They are on the upswing. They hired Rich Good who is a MC Alum and former MC coach for the 2022 season and he got them going. He was the head coach at Gary West Community after coaching MC and brought them to a winning record. I expect them to keep rising under him.

Most of the ultra talented players in NW Indy go to Andrean and MC. BR even has some in their team. It’s much better football in IL, especially in NW Indy. Andrean plays to what would be 2A in IL....If any team in the CCL Blue played any of the top NW Indy teams they would win handily.

All..... The Indians don't throw much and return last years qb. Also back among others Xavier Williams a good size rb who rushed for just under 1500 yards. They look to be more ball control and clock burners.

Overall team size although they have a few bigs is average. They did manage to play the Celtics last year close losing 16-14 in New Lenox week one. Once again they will play NLP to open this time around with a home game. Ratsy
