Thanks for posting GWRandy. So Duchon started the practice (in the mid-60's) of awarding gold helmets to standout players he called "hitters". Now I know where that came from.

I always thought it was awesome, GBW should bring that and the green uniforms back. The black uniforms are trendy but have no connection to GBW.

It was silver helmets in the 80s and 90s
