Marion - 6-4 last year, lost to Highland in Round 2.
Mount Vernon - Decent some years.
Collinsville - Still growing their program.
Mater Dei - Always tough playing for the Holy Grail.
STL St. Mary's - 5A MO, lost to Ritter in Quarters last year. Recent champ.
Kaneland - Surprisingly, the Crusaders got very little love for this win without Dierre.

3/4A Playoffs if we make it.

All.... Fwiw preseason Massey shows 6-3. Losses all a score or less to East, St. Mary's, and Kaneland. Like that Crusader quarterback who is returning. He is a gamer on the field. Ratsy

Kid who was starting at guard beginning the year who was hurt should be back. Sophomore Guard #65 is hopefully back too. At least you have a base there.

EVERYONE is gone.

They were 8 OL deep last season. They got 2 that were Juniors Last season and 1 that was a Sophomore coming back and they’re all 6’ 3 and 300+ lbs. They were all in the Rotation. 1 of the kids had a season ending injury in week 3 last season. OL will be tough again this season.

They do have the junior QB and the sophomore WR, the sophomore back up back, as well as a few young pups. They won't suck.

I have not heard anything, but have not asked or been places to ask recently. A summer video clip showed some unexpected numbers being highlighted with dandy plays, but I know nothing other than the expected Catholic Boys who show up from the parochial feeders.

They got an OL who was at ESL. I dont believe he played much last year though as a soph

Woof! What a schedule for a 1A school. And here I thought we had it rough playing up in the CS8... Althoff said hold my adult beverage!

All.... I agree. The ever changing preseason projections shows Althoff (Calpreps 35-32 53% - Massey 35-22 80%) but this game could be interesting. Looked at the Bulldogs only curious because they open up week one against Jacksonville from the CS8, the conference I follow.

Highland airs it out pretty well. They have returning QB Blake Gelly who passed for a bit under 2000 yards. A duo qb who can also run. (and does) They lose to graduation 4 out of 6 receivers and the teams top rb who rushed for over thousand yards . Back though is rb Carter Harris. I haven't seen any film on him but his 2024 stats 69- 819 (11.9) and 11 td's as a freshman playing on the varsity is impressive. Rushed for over 200 yards in the Bulldogs round one playoff win last season against Marion. We will see.... Ratsy

All.... Always wanted to make the long postseason road trip to your nice complex (and a quick stop for "fortifications" at Jackpot Joe's) before the game but the seeding never worked out. That experience you mentioned the Wildcats have coming back bodes well for you team. A week one victory against the Lions would be big looking at Marion's schedule. Ratsy
