any thoughts why a guy with a bunch of big 10 and SEC offers would be committing to WIU in the 11th hour? i can't imagine they have a bunch of NIL money to throw around

Offers were very early and obviously off the table a while ago....it's a hell of a question. Loved his game but the knee injury no question left many with doubts. Felt his game was strong this past season post injury but I didn't see him dropping to FCS level. He's taking a gamble on himself have a good season at WIU then hit the portal afterwards.....then end up back at the Power 4 level. He truly has that ability in my opinion

Dumbest thing in all of sports is this “offer a kid but it doesn’t mean anything” B.S. in recruiting. Like why even make the offer? Idk…I know everyone does it but is the scummiest part of the dirty game that is recruiting.

Hope the kid has a great career and plays wherever he ultimately wants to.

When Parker Startz at a Legit 6'3 230 and could move couldn't get better then Ohio U out of MC I really didn't know what Power schools had against IL linebackers. Rosters are shrinking, portal is the route most teams are going and if your not a 4 or 5 star then forget about it with the majors unless you luck out. The offers he had must have been non-commitable or unless he would have committed much sooner with the "offers" he was getting. I always thought his listed 6'0 210, which means 5'11 200, may have been undersized for a major college LB. He will do fine at WIU and ride it to a MAC offer at the very least.

There are many reasons that offers get pulled. Injuries, grades……

How many times do kids say the reason they picked a school was because they were there from the beginning? Schools have no choice but to offer or be left behind when that kid really is deserving of an offer.
