Biggest Question facing Glenwood his fall?
Can the Titans get back to compete and possibly beat the elite level teams in the Central State 8 this fall? Glenwood and head coach David Hay had a strong run in 2019 posting a 12-1 record and losing to eventual Class 6A state champion East St Louis. This past spring the Titan posted a fine 4-2 record and included losses to SHG and Rochester. Glenwood played a ton of underclassmen this past spring and will be still a young team but now with varsity experience. Looking for a potential sleeper team to watch in Class 6A? It can very well be Glenwood.
Impact Player for Glenwood
Sophomore DE Mark Helm is a name to watch and a name also on the rise in recruiting circles. Helm, who older brother David played TE at Glenwood (as well as at the FBS level at Tennessee/Duke and in the NFL) on the lower level in the spring will be added as a starter for the varsity this season, Helm has a chance to develop into a big time D1 recruit for the Titans program.
Game to Watch this Fall? Week 9 vs SHG
Sure the non conference game against Normal Community is interesting, and I would never overlook anything involving Rochester. Yet the rivalry game against SHG is always a major game for both schools and especially for Glenwood. This could be a great way to cap off hopefully a strong regular season for the Titans...and regardless I can also see this week 9 game having big playoff/seeding implications.
