The New CS8.... 2024 Schedule

All.... And so it begins. The CS8 for football will have two divisions. Five in the division, two crossovers, and two non cons. If there are teams still available in the last category additional CS8 games may be scheduled. I only have a partial list and it's tenative. Take it with a grain of salt. Weeks 1 ,2, 8, and 9 work out. But some schools end up getting more home games then others in weeks 3 through 7. Not sure how that worked out. I threw this all together quickly. But it's a start.

Schools I could not find. QND, Rochester, and Southeast. One can cross reference on what is showing below to get a partial idea on those teams. The Raiders want to keep their week one non con game with Quincy. The Blue Devils schedule is showing QND for the next two years in week one. (A & H) QND has expressed interest in wanting to play Breese Mater Dei in week two. All games are Friday at 7pm unless noted. Ratsy

Edit- (12-29-2023) I have added in Southeast. But some of these schedules do not match up correctly. For instance when the schedule for two teams that are playing each other and both are being shown as a home game. Who is playing each other in the regular season looks to be pretty solid it's just this H & A that is being shown problems which I mentioned occur. Can't wait for the official Ihsa schedules to come out....

Oswego East

CB Nigel Grisby 2025
- Nigel is a good sized (5-foot-11, 165 pounds) corner who also has good speed and cover skills. I also loved how Nigel kept coming back for more and more reps here. Will no question draw more looks and attention this summer in one day camps.

DE Blaise Chin 2025- Good sized (6-foot-3, 230 pounds) defensive end type who has good speed and strength, was able to show well in positional work and I'm excited to see more on him this summer and then also see his fall video.

QB Connor Gregory 2025- Seems like I've been watching Connor throwing a football forever lol. Connor, the son of QB Farm Steve Gregory is a big, strong kid (6-foot-2, 185 pounds) who has continued to improve each time I see him live. Like every QB here it took him a bit to get used to the receivers not from OE, but overall I felt he did just fine here.

WR/S Andy Pohlman 2025 Tall lanky kid here who showed to have good hands and ball skills. Listed at a very solid 6-foot-3, 170 pounds and this is a kid who can also add a bit more muscle down the line as well.

WR Lincoln Ijams 2026 An underclassmen name to watch here. Lincoln has been to some camps and I believe I've seen him twice live now. Both times he impressed me with his hands, speed and his ability to get separation from the opposing defensdive back.

TE/DE Kenneth Hines 2026 Another interesting 2026 name to watch. Kenneth is listed at 6-foot-2, 225 pounds and is a nice mix of power and qioickness and a player who ran good routes and showed good hands as well.

Willowbrook

WR/DB KJ Rhodes 2025
- I liked KJ's 2023 video a ton especially on defense. Rhodes played a safety but has the size and look as more of a cover corner at the next level. A bit undersized at 5-foot-8, 160 pounds but don't let that fool you....Rhodes has impressive instincts in coverage, makes great reads and is a major hitter and finisher. Has a real chance at playing at a higher level in college as a corner.

TE/H/WR Santino Whitehead 2026 "Bam" is a big strong, physical kid who has a lot to offer. Plays some DE along with TE and is listed at 6-foot-3, 200 pounds. Will no question get bigger and stronger over the next two seasons and I'm really interested to see his development in 2024.

Wheaton St Francis

RB Tyvonn Ransom 2025
- Ty has been on my radar from some time now/ Ransom is just an impressive all around football player listed at 5-foot-10, 185 pounds. Ransom is an every down back who shows good speed outside along with more than capable of catching the football out of the backfield. Runs strong, gets up to speed quickly and has a nice downfield gear ans is hard to catch. I have Ransom as a D1/FCS level prospect.

QB Jack Reilly 2025 - The Spartans are going to have one heck of a QB battle and expect Jack Reilly (6-foot-1 1/2 195 pounds) to be in the thick of that battle. Reilly, who returned to St Francis for this fall has a strong arm with great touch while also being a very strong runner who no question is a dual threat. Reilly just carries himself with confidence and just seems to make every throw required. Has higher level FCS level ability in my opinion.

DB Seth Valari 2025 Transferred into St Francis this past winter from Wisconsin and Valari is holding a handful of D1 offers this spring. Valeri is a good sized defensive back who has the tools to play either corner or safety. Valeri tracks the football well, has a good feel and instinct for the football and has the speed and closing ability to be a pus in run support as well.

WR Ian Willis 2025 Another just quality athlete and player here for the Spartans. Willis is a dangerous inside slot receiver and also a very solid running back. Willis has great speed and is a fluid route runner. Willis can and will also play defensive back and is truly a jack of all trades here. I'm still a bit stunned that more schools haven't pick things up with him this spring. Willis speed is legit along with his ability to make big plays.

WR/S Tanner Glock 2026 - See above. The Spartans have to have on3e of the most stacked roster loaded with athletic and highly accomplished receivers who can just make play after play. Glock saw quite a bit of playing time in 2023 and looks to be getting better each time I see him live.

OL/DL Brady Hill 2025 Pretty solid overall two way starting linemen for the Spartans here, Hill (6-foot-2 1/2 275 pounds) has gotten a bit stronger and leaner from a season ago. I really like Hill as a DT and can and will draw double teams on most downs yet still finds a way to beat double teams regularly.

WR Dario Milivojevic 2026- The younger brother of Alessio Milivojevic (Michigan State) is a terrific slot receiver type who is coming off a strong varsity season in 2023, Dario is listed at 5-foot-10, 160 pounds and has really good speed, hands and overall instincts and ball skills are at a high level. Milivojevic is already drawing recruiting looks and offers and he will continue to be a highly productive slot for the Spartans.

TE Gavin Mueller 2026 Maybe the biggest sleeper in the Class of 2026 in Illinois? It's very possible. Listed at a legit 6-foot-6 and 240 pounds, Mueller played Hoops only for the past two seasons but is now back to football for this coming season. Mueller is highly athletic, runs well and has Power 4 physical tools, upsidie and potential. I've seen both top 2026 TE's JC Anderson and Mack Sutter live in person....and Mueller on the hoodf is just as impressive. I fully expect more offers to roll in here and look for Power 4 schools to engage with him early this fall.

QB Brady Palmer 2026 Brady is another big time signal caller in the 2026 class and he is also in a battle for the starting QB jon this summer. Palmer is listed at 6-foot-2, 200 pounds, has been highly impressive every time I see him live and has the look and feel of a big time quarterback. All that's missing is varsity seat time.....and if Palmer can win the starters job look out...nothing but huge upside here.

WR Zach Washington 2026 Zach is already adding offers including hisn latest from Wisconsin. Washington has the great combination of size, , great reach and length along with having very good hands and speed, I'm also impressed with Washington's ability to just go get the football and outfight all comers. Washington is listed at 6-foot-2, 175 pounds and I can see him getting to the 190-200 pound mark sooner than later. Major D1 level talent here.

DB James McGrath 2027 Highly advance kid here. Was very impressive in positional and drill work and has a nice combination of physical tools and coverage skills. Listed at 6-foot-0, 170 pounds and James will just get bigger and stronger from here on out.

DB Issac Saldana 2027- Speedy and athletic cover corner who I was impressed with playing for Boom 7on7 this winter. Listed as a DB at 6-foot-1, 180 pounds and Issac can play either corner or safety equally well. Has great ball skills and just seems to always get in between the receiver and the football. Young guy with a lot of upside here.

Impact Player for ALAH

Keep an eye this summer and fall on ALAH senior OL/DL Jacob Tighe (6-foot-5, 300 pounds) for the Knights. Tighe will hit the college camp circuit this summer and has been drawing steady recruiting interest from the likes of Illinois, EIU and SIU this spring.

EDGY's Preseason Thoughts on the 2024 ALAH Knights

ALAH and head coach Ryan Jefferson was able to answer the various questions regarding how the Knights would fare in 2023 minus 4 year All State RB Kaden Feagin (Illinois). The Knights posted a perfect 9-0 regular season record and won the Lincoln Prairie conference title. The Knights lost in the Class 2A opening round to Quincy Notre Dame to end the season at 9-1.

The biggest question for ALAH in 2024?

Can the Knights reload at a few key spots this summer along with develop much needed overall numbers and depth? This is a Knights program that has made the state playoffs in back to back seasons. Can this football program make the state playoffs again and make a deeper post-season run and this has to be the program's goal this fall and beyond. The Knights no question got a rough draw in QND (a 21-14 loss) and hopefully this time around ALAH will have more experience in big games and ready to take the next steps.

Impact Player for Kankakee

Kankakee has had a loaded roster over the past few seasons and the talent parade isn't running dry anytime soon. Kankakee senior LB Kennyan Chandler (6-foot-1, 225 pounds) is a big time defender and impact player for the Kays this coming season. This is a rsiter filled with speed and athletes and look for multiple names to draw serious recruiting looks and attention this fall.

EDGY's Preseason Thoughts on the 2024 Kankakee Kays

Kankakee and head coach Miles Osei are looking to make another deep post-season run in 2024. The Kays in 2023 made the Class 6A state playoff field and lost to East St Louis in the quarterfinal round. The Kays will lean on an experienced team on both sides of the football with 18 returning starters (9 offense 9 defense) and the Kays have made the state playoffs in four straight seasons.

The biggest question for the Kays heading into 2024?

Can Kankakee keep rolling along in the post-season and eventually win a Class 6A state title this fall? Overall this is a Kankakee team that has a lot to offer and I can see this team making a deep post-season run....and just like in any class it will depends upon the playoff bracket along with catching a break here or there. Overall this is no question a team to watch in Class 6a in 2024.

2024 Team 7on7 or Team Summer Camp?

July 18 with Bishop Mac
July 24 at Eisenhower

Impact Player for St. Laurence

The Vikings will need to reload at several key positions this summer, yet the Vikings defense features some key names none as impactful as senior DL Jace Chamberlain. Chamberlain was a big time impact player and hitter for the Vikings in it's 2023 Class 4A state playoff run and look for Chamberlain to again lead a very strong Vikings defense in 2024.

Looking for a potential sleeper name for St. Laurence this coming fall? Both senior linebackers Jacob Bylina and Ja'Sean Mays are also big time playmakers for the Vikings defense this coming season and both will also draw additional recruiting attention.

EDGY's Preseason Thoughts on the 2024 St. Laurence Vikings

St. Laurence and head coach Adam Nissen led the Vikings to a 10-4 season and the 2023 Class 4A state title game and that has been the Vikings best finish in IHSA state playoffs since the Vikings second place finish in 1978 under Hall of Fame head coach Mike O'Neill (St Laurence won the 5A state title in 1976 under Tom Kavanagh). The Vikings graduated a very deep and talented senior class this spring and look for St Laurence to reload especially on the offensive side of the football with just two returning starters back this fall.

The biggest question for St. Laurence in 2024? Can the Vikings reload on offense and find a way to post 5 wins and get into the state playoff field? The 2024 schedule is again stacked for St. Laurence and includes games against Niles Notre Dame, Carmel, Fenwick, Brother Rice and Montini Catholic. Just getting to 5 wins is no given and if the Vikings can make it into the post-season....they will again be a potentially dangerous, battle tested team in Class 4A.

Impact Player for DePaul Prep

DePaul Prep is a school and program that has been continuing to improve it's teams and this school continues to grow in enrollment along with seeing the football team improve. The Rams have a roster loaded with experience and the name to watch here is senior to be QB JuJu Rodriguez. Rodriguez led the Rams with 16 touchdowns in 2023 (5 rushing 11 passing) and his overall speed and quickness along with his ability to throw the football is impressive.

Looking for a potential sleeper name for DePaul Prep this coming fall? Keep an eye on senior to be ILB Jett Reese (6-foot-3, 225 pounds) who has the look and ther physical tools to draw higher level recruiting attention this season.

EDGY's Preseason Thoughts on the 2024 DePaul Prep Rams

DePaul Prep and head coach Michael Passarella ended the 2023 season with a 4-5 record and just missed out landing a possible at large IHSA state playoff bid. The Rams dropped close losses in 2023 to Providence Catholic, Marian Catholic and DeLaSalle in Week 9 and this team was within a big play or two of making the state playoff field. Look for the Rams to bounce back this fall led by an experience team including 16 returning starters (8 offense 8 defense) and a starting lineup that has a ton of varsity experience.

The biggest question for DePaul Prep in 2024? Can the Rams survive once again a very strong regular season schedule which includes games against powerhouse CCL programs in Loyola, Carmel Catholic St Francis. Getting to 5 wins will be again a big challenge this fall for the Rams....but this team is also more experienced and has a real chance of getting back into the IHSA state playoff field for just the second time since 2015.

Impact Player for Illini West

The Chargers will welcome back an impressive 17 starters (8 offense 9 defense) and most positions are covered from a talent and experience standpoint. Senior RB/LB Nick Johnson (5-foot-9, 160 pounds) will be asked to provide leadership and production on both sides of the football and his season will be a key for the Chargers in 2024.

EDGY's Preseason Thoughts on the 2024 Illini West Chargers

The Titans and then first year head coach Jacob Calvin just missed makin g the IHSA state playoff field in 2023, dropping a heartbreaking Week 9 29-26 loss to Moweuqua A&M that kept the Titans home for the playoffs. With a roster stacked with experience back for the season, look for the Chargers to be highly motivated to return to the IHSA state playoff field along with being in contention in the Lincoln Trail/Prairieland Large conference title in 2024,

Impact Player for Edwardsville

It's pretty simple from my perspective when having to decide on the Tigers biggest impact player for 2024. Edwardsville senior 4 star ranked DE Iose Epenesa has been on recruiting radar screens since he was an eight grader. The Epenesa name has been lock step with the Edwardsville sports program for decades now and this family has generated several high level athletes over the years including former Tiger/Iowa and now NFL DL AJ Epemesa. Iose Epenesa possesses much of the same physical tools and traits of his older brother AJ and he will continue to grow and develop at the Power 4 level.

EDGY's Preseason Thoughts on the 2024 Edwardsville Tigers

Year in and year out the Edwardsville Tigers remain one of the top overall teams in Southern Illinois as well as in the Class 8A field. The Tigers will open the 2024 season with second year head coach Kelsey Pickering. The Tigers finished the 2023 season with a 10-2 record as Edwardsville made the IHSA state playoff field for the 12th straight season and lost to York in the Class 8A state quarterfinal round. The 2024 Tigers welcome back an impressive 16 returning starters (9 offense 7 defense) and the overall talent level and numbers is always strong at Edwardsville.

The biggest question for Edwardsville n 2024?

The easy question for the Tigers is pretty much also the same question asked around Edwardsville and heck... the entire Southwestern conference....and that is can this Tigers team beat longtime rival East St. Louis in 2024 and win the Southwestern conference title? The last time the Tigers beat the Flyers was back in 2012 as Edwardsville beat East St Louis in Round 2 of the Class 8A state playoff field so needless to say it's been awhile. Beat the East Side in 2024? Again the Flyers will be stacked with talent again...and this Edwardsville program continues to be the most capable of anyone else in the Southwestern of challenging the Flyers dynasty year in and year out. If the Tigers can reload at a few key positions (QB/ILB) all the better the chances for Edwardsville in 2024,

Impact Player for Morgan Park

Morgan Park head coach Chris James has done a tremendous job of developing talent along with keeping the Mustangs at the top of the Chicago Public League and beyond. While the Mustangs no question have some key losses to replace including the loss of standout RB/DB Tysean Griffin (Illinois) plus WR Chris Durr (Wyoming)...the Mustangs for the 2024 season still have a handful of major dudes to watch this fall. Senior QB Marcus Thaxton has been a starter for Morgan Parl since his sophomore season and his overall game and ability to make plays continues to get better each season. Senior S/OLB Jovan Clark is a major hitter, ball hawk and impact player for the Mustangs again this season. Clark has several D1 level offers this spring. Senior ATH Jahmare Washington is truly an impact player on either side of the football. Washington already has several major Power 4/D1 offers and has ther physical size, potential and upside to become a maonster at the high college level and Washington can and will play S/WR/CB/OLB and DE this fall.

Looking for a potential sleeper names for Morgan Park this coming fall? Incoming transfer 2026 ATH Nasir Rankin (6-foot-0, 180 pounds) comes in from Whitney Young and is one of the top overall two sport athletes (football/basketball) in the Chicagoland area. Senior DB Ahmad Grayer is another speedy and athletic defender and is another name to watch this summer and fall.

EDGY's Preseason Thoughts on the 2024 Chicago Morgan Park Mustangs

Morgan Park and alum and head coach Chris James has continued to build up the football program into not just a city power but also a Class 5A power. Morgan Park under James has made the IHSA state playoffs in four straight seasons and James has posted a record of 39-18 in his 6 seasons in charge. The Mustangs made it to the Cl;ass 5A state quarterfinal round in the last two seasons posting losses in the quarterfinals in 2023 to St Francis and in 2022 to Nazareth Academy.

The biggest question for Morgan Park in 2024? Can the Mustangs get past the awaiting Catholic suburban school powers in Class 5A and win a state title this fall? The Mustangs no question have some question marks, but I also like some of the answers here this preseason. Can the Mustangs can establish a handful of new weapons in the offensive skills while getting a big season from QB Marcus Thaxton along with the veteran Mustangs offensive line? The Morgan Park defense brings back experience, speed and toughness and will be a definite strength this fall. If the offense finds those early questions on offense along with the kicking game/special teams....this squad has a very real chance of making a potential deep run in 2024.
