While running the ball 60 times today may have been the best way to get a win today, that may not have been the best way to prep for when they will inevitably need to air it out a bit more in the future.
Agreed. It definitely seemed they were working on things. There were points in the game where I thought it seemed I wanted to win more than the coaching staff. A win is a win, though.
Okay, thank you. You guys are making me feel better about what I watched this evening. I did like a lot of the things they did and/or tried today. The only thing that was really, not good. was that long pass into heavy coverage that was intercepted. That ball should have never been thrown, but that's not on the coaches.

ICE Week 9

Cats win 56-18 over Streator. Streator actually had more total yards than Wilmo in a weird statistical anomaly.
Coal City smoked Manteno as expected, 49-7.
Reed-Custer crushed Lisle 49-12. I figured Comets would win by a couple scores, but they took their frustrations out tonight.
Peotone 35, Herscher 0 per scorezone. Herscher could have snuck in with a win, but it looks like Peotone ended that idea quickly.

I think a bit differently in that situation. PC needed to apply pressure on JCA quickly to force them to do things. Calling TO’s would have done that. Not saying the outcome would have been different, but the PC defense was gassed and needed as many breathers as they could get. Either way an exciting game.
I agree with you. I would have burned them after the deflating 8 yard runs on first down to at least give yourself a chance with 2-3 minutes left.

I was not trying to defend their clock management, just saying that I assume that was their thinking. I am cool with them not taking TO's after the first down runs, but after the 8 yard runs before second down it would have been best to stop the clock and give your defense a chance.

I have no idea why in the last few minutes they weren't sending 11 men into the box and selling out to stop the run. And if they were, I have no idea how they never made contact with the ballcarrier until he was 2-3 yards past the line of scrimmage.
