Baseball has pretty much done everything they can over the years to alienate fans and make the game unwatchable outside of an old dying fan base is anyone even watching at this point? According to a 2017 data poll, the average age of a MLB fan is 57. This is up from 2005, when the average age was 52. The average ages of NBA, NHL and NFL fans are 42, 49 and 51. Baseball is dying and having another strike is just one more nail in the coffin, if may not be right now but in 15-20 years baseball will hit the tipping point if they don’t address the issues with the game right now.
