Kelvin Hayden with the Colts. Went from Hubbard to JJC. As a WR at JJC, he won a national championship and then signed with the Illini. Had a good year as a junior at WR. The Illini were so bad on defense that year, Ron Turner told his defensive staff in the offseason to pick any offensive players they thought could help on defense. They chose Hayden, so he spent his senior year playing cornerback.
That decision earned him a second round pick, millions of dollars in career earnings, and a Super Bowl ring. He is a perfect example in teaching young athletes to be flexible.
