Ask Soucie: Week 9 Playoff Projection Questions here

We spiked to 272 teams projected to finish with records of 5-4 or better.

That led to a little bit of finagling with the point line. As of now there are eight teams projected to finish with 5-4 records and 39 points. Those teams are through to the projection. They are: Morgan Park, Crystal Lake Central, Hinsdale South, Glenbrook South, Lake Forest, Orangeville, Peoria Notre Dame and Stark County.

If any of those teams fail to reach 39 they fall into the group of 5-4 and 38’s, there are three teams (Benton, Burlington Central and Polo) at this stage. As of right now, Benton advances through to the projection, Polo and Burlington Central are out.

Teams projected to finish 5-4 and have less than 38 points and are eliminated are in addition to Burlington Central and Polo: Kincaid South Fork, Mount Zion, Leyden, Kirkland Hiawatha, Rock Island, Hardin Calhoun, Mount Carmel (downstate), Tri-County, Canton, Oakwood, North Chicago, Mooseheart, Glenbrook North and LaSalle-Peru.
