Getting this weeks version started...

Last week:

WB6

Moline 49, Rock Island 24 – Game was fairly close for awhile til Moline’s run game (i.e. Riley Fuller) hit its next gear and pulled away late. Til someone can figure out how to stop Fuller, Moline will continue to rack up yards on the ground.

Quincy 49, United Township 14 – Quincy had the passing game on point, setting a new school record in passing yards in a game. Sadly, UT’s playoff hopes fade to almost nothing and its all a matter of pride now.

Geneseo 21, Galesburg 7 – The Maple Leafs gut out a tough one against Galesburg and set up a major show down next week against rival Sterling.

Sterling 69, Alleman 0 – Not much to say about this one, Sterling was in complete control from the kick off.

TRAC

Kewanee 40, Bureau Valley 7 – Kewanee blitzed out to a quick 20-0 lead in the 1st quarter and never looked back. BV had no answer for The Boilermakers ground game.

Princeton 70, Mendota 21 – Princeton is currently just something else when it comes to football. 7 (yes 7) second quarter touchdowns has to be a record. Tigers Quarterback Teegan Davis threw for 316 yards and 5 touchdown…in one half of football.

St. Bede 34, Newman 8 – The Bruins are playing impressive football right now, shutting down a tough Newman team to stay undefeated.

Morrison 38, Hall 32 OT – Two tough teams that are both looking to rebuild their programs. Neither of them may win a lot of games this season, but they will be a tough out for anyone.

Rockridge 51, EP 21 – The Rockets overwhelmed EP on both sides of the ball, amassing 44 first half points and never letting EP get it’s run game going until the game was out of reach. Rockridge is looking to make sure it stays near the top of the TRAC pecking order.

Monmouth Roseville 51, Sherrard 20 – After a lack luster game last week in a loss to Morrison, the Titans stormed back with a vengeance. Sherrard has been tough in all of it’s games this season, but it has yet to equal a win.

This week:

WB6

Quincy over Galesburg: Quincy continues to be impressive and down the Silver Streaks in a game where their passing attack allows them to pull away after halftime. Galesburg’s offense has just been stuck in neutral.

Sterling over Geneseo: I think this will be a much closer game than in recent years where Sterling has rolled. The Leaf’s are improved, but Sterling still has too many weapons to stop.

Rock Island over United Township: Could be an ugly game at times as both teams are prone to mistakes and turnovers, but the Rock’s do enough to get the W and right the ship…for a week at least.

Moline is taking a forfeit from Alleman: Alleman got super beat up by Sterling last week and has decided to forfeit to Moline in hopes of being able to play out the rest of it’s schedule.

TRAC

Morrison over Sherrard: The Mustangs are on a win streak and though Sherrard is a tough team looking for it’s first win, the home team Mustangs will notch their 3rd win.

Newman over Bureau Valley: Newman is looking to get back on track in it’s hunt for the playoffs and a trip to play against a beat up Bureau Valley team should give the Comets some confidence going forward.

Rockridge over Monmouth-Roseville: This one is a coin flip to me, specially with the Titans being the home team. Rockridge is just a little better though and wins by a touchdown.

Erie-Prophetstown over Orion: This one is a coin flip. Both teams need the win to keep playoff hopes alive. Both teams seem evenly matched. Giving the nod to the home team.

Princeton over Kewanee: The Tiger Express will keep on rolling. Possibly not the 60 or 70 points they have been putting up, but I think they reach the 50’s.

Hall over Mendota: Hall is a tough team that can grind out yards and control the clock. I think they get the home win against the Trojan team that is still reeling from being blasted by Princeton.

St. Bede is taking a Forfeit win.
