Coming in at #47, Flyers are tops in IL - LA, MC, LWE and Rita in the top 300.

Atascocita is 103 and St.F is at #3.

Last year's ranking had MC at 71, Loyola at 73. I don't know if that was pre- or post-season, but it is pretty accurate considering that the teams were separated in talent by a few millimeters. This year, Loyola is ranked at 87, MC at 95. Clearly, whoever compiles the rankings doesn't read this board.

It’s a waste of time and energy to get upset or excited over any publications National Rankings. It’s impossible to accurately rank the Nations High School teams, we have a hard enough time ranking Chicagoland area teams 😀

A careful reading of the accompanying text indicates the rankings displayed for 2022 are the rankings at the end of the 2022 season.

I believe these preseason rankings are more based on schools that play a national schedule. I mean look at ESL that plays out of state teams every year. They are getting recognized. They become more accurate at the end of the season when teams get recognized for what they did during the season.

I still dont understand why it is necessary to play a "National" schedule in high school.

99% of ESTL students are low income and receive free and reduced lunches. I would imagine the resources to send the football team "nationally" could be much better used.

1. Usually there is some outside money funding these trips/games. Not from District 189.

2. Most of these kids wont get the chance to play football beyond high school. And may not ever get the chance to travel to different parts of the country. Let them enjoy the few months they get to play football and the perks that come with it.

3. 2 teams left the SWC which gives ESL 4 open dates. Outside of CBC and DeSmet, they seem to have a hard time filling all four with local teams so they find someone who will play them.

I find it amazing that you even typed this. So basically you're saying "poor kids should stay in their lane" wow. Who do you root for? Just curious?

Some interesting data here:

ESL -
Expenditure per student: Income by school district:
$18,844$25,782
Once again the district/state isn't footing the bill the event planners or other schools are paying. Secondly based on this logic are our cleats supposed to come pre-holely too. We all know ESL is a poor community ...so now what.

I didn't say anything about that. Data simply shows they spend more per student than average. Just some cool data is all. More than Willow Springs.

I don't understand your math. I don't understand the relevance of this comment. I don't understand small mindedness. I do understand that you don't get how sports, recruiting, and opportunity is created in the socioeconomic world that you obviously dwell in.

They do “spend” more than average than moat districts. It is just a matter of if money spent is on the students.

D189 lost control of its purse a few times and the state stepped in for oversight.

What are some example of better ways to spend money on students?
