Peoria (Ill.) three star ranked junior wide receiver recruit Jamir Whitelow (6-foot-3, 200 pounds) checks in and recaps his latest spring recruiting news.
"I've been staying busy with school, track season along with just training," Whitelow said. "We are starting to see college coaches in school. I might also make a few more visits soon."
Whitelow talked about his recent in school visitors.
"Sop far the coaches from Central Florida, Minnesota and Toledo have been in school. We have a workout session but the coaches have just come into school at different times. I'm looking at going to visit either Iowa, Purdue or Indians this Saturday. I'm pretty sure the visit will be to Purdue on Saturday but I'm still sorting it all out."
Whitelow also checked out last Saturday's NIU spring game.
"I went to the NIU spring game on Saturday and that went fine. I talked to the coaches at NIU and they said that they are interested in me but that they want me to camp with them this summer."
Does Whitelow have any camp plans yet this summer?
"I have a lot of things going on with my team this summer. We will be at the Illinois 7on7, the Northwestern 7on7 along with going to team 7on7's at NIU and a team camp at Western Illinois. We go every year to WIU as a team. I'm also going to the Rivals Camp on May 15th."
EDGY's Thoughts on Jamir Whitelow recruiting: Whitelow had two early offers from Illinois (under Beckman) and also Western Michigan. My guess is that the WMU offer could be gone (filled up at WR) and still not sure if the offer from Illinois is there or not. I get the feeling schools want to see Whitelow run live this spring and summer and if I have heard one question on Whitelow so far is how fast is he?
