Curious to see some of the toughest regular season schedules for teams that made it into the playoff dance.

I will start!

I knew Waubonsie’s schedule was tough going into the season - but looking back at it from week 10 - it looks even tougher.

WV played two of the current top ten Edgy 8A teams (and won both games) in OPRF and Edwardsville. Also both have advanced to round 2

also played two other 8A teams that were in the top 10 in 8A at one point during the season in Edgy top 10 or AP top 10. (NC loss and NV played twice and 1-1 split the games).

Also played a current top ten 6A team in PR and lost by a couple points 21-19.

Wow scary schedule. 6 out of 9 games were against current or former top 10 ranked teams in their classification. And 4 of the teams are still active and alive in the playoffs: NC, OPRF, Eville, PR. (NV had a tough close loss to Warren 14-3 in round 1)

Is there anyone that Had a tougher reg season schedule that also made the playoffs?

Maybe Naperville Central?
Brother rice in the Blue with non con Marist?
JCA in the ESCC with non con IC?
Others? Post those resumes’!!!

There is no question who had the most difficult schedule when the Flyers open with King, Trinity and then Edwardsville, followed by three conference games including West, then Massillon, and two more conference games, with three SWC opponents advancing to the playoffs.

That is a good one! 4 ESL opponents still in the playoffs I’m assuming? - King, Trinity, Eville, Massillon. and one or two of them were nationally ranked?

The North Suburban Conference. Warren, Stevenson, Lake Zurich, Lake Forest. Play each other every year. Year in and year out has to be one of the toughest regular season schedules.

I agree. Teams south and west get the hype but if you come out of the NSC you are pretty battled tested ... non of the top NSC teams play week out of conference schedules. It's play off time enough of the hyping ... Time to play !

JCA’s schedule was really tough.
Naz
Marist
Notre Dame
Benet
IC Catholic
We only won one game out of them but it really prepared them for the playoffs. Double edge sword.

Yes! 5 playoff teams out of a 9 game schedule with 4 of those teams still in the dance. Very very tough reg season schedule.

3 of those teams could win it all. Marist or Naz. IC in 4a. Huge advantage for the linemen in the playoffs. Getting used to playing against more D1 kids and bigger kids at these top tier teams really gives them an advantage. Win or lose against them, the talent level JCA has played is phenomenal. JCA has stayed predominantly healthy. ( Lost two juniors ). But the core is still there. Thank God this team found 5 wins or we would never truly know how good this team was or is. Jury still out. Go Hill!!!!!
