Again this was covered a bit on the Free board.....here are some additional schools to watch along with my thoughts on some others....
Loyola Academy_ The Ramblers will lose some top names to graduation, yet plenty of keys will return starting with QB Jake Stearney, OL Michael Kostantonov plus DE Brooks Bahr
Mount Carmel- The Caravan dealt with growing pains all season long in 2021, yet no one is in better shape to have a really dangerous team in 2022 than this program. The offense welcomes back several key names led by junior QB/ATH Damarington Arrington along with sophomore RB/DB Darrion Dupree, junior WR/DB Jaden Bossie plus junior QB Blainey Dowling, junior DE Asher Tomazewski and WR John Brown as just of many names to watch.
Marist- despite some big senior class graduation losses (Dontrell Jackson Jr/Deuce McGuire/Jimmy Roller) the Redhawks will be just fine in 2022 and the underclassmen talent here is still strong.
Lincoln Way East- It was a rare year in 2021 for the Griffins when they had a roster and starting lineup loaded with underclassmen names.....and outside of the handful of seniors who will graduate this roster and starting lineup on both sides of the football will be stacked once again.
Neuqua Valley- The Wildcats will be stacked especially in the offensive skills with junior QB Mark Mennecke, junior WR Grant Larkin along with junior RB Jaden McGee will be key names to watch.
Batavia- Highly motivated to make a comeback this coming 2022 season is an understatement here for Batavia. The Bulldogs will need to reload in a handful of key spots....yet they also have several big time impact names back for 2022. Sophomore QB Ryan Boe had a nice 2021 season and the linebacker core led by junior Tyler Jansey along with junior Jack Sadowsky might be the best two inside linebackers in the state in 2022.
Nazareth Academy- Another team that played a ton of underclassmen in 2021 that will be primed for a big 2022 breakout season. Keep an eye on junior WR/DB Kaleb Miller, junior ATH Justin Taylor along with freshman QB Logan Malachuk plus freshman DE Gabe Kaminsky all of who made a big impact already at the varsity level.
Wheaton St Francis The Spartans also will bring back a ton of experienced underclassmen in the fold. Keep an eye on sophomore QB Alessio Milivojevic plus junior OL/DL TJ McMillen plus junior WR/RB Dash Dorsey.
Willowbrook- The Warriors just win and will look towards sophomore QB AJ Palicki as a key along with sophomore WR/DB Joey Tumiltyin leading a strong underclassmen group back looking to make a deeper run in 2022.
Non Chicagoland Teams to Watch?
Sacred Heart Griffin- Loaded with returning starters and the strength of this team will be in the offensive skills led by junior QB Ty Lott, junior WR Keshon Singleton plus junior WR/S Jake Hamilton while junior WR Madixx Morris is another name on the rise in a very deep skills group for the Cyclones.
East St Louis- Sure Touchdown Luther will be gone but this team is still young and loaded with talent including 4 starting OL's, sophomore QB Pops Battle freshman RB TyRyan Martin plus junior WR Ryan Boyd and the roster just reloads again.
