Dear Shamrock Community,



As many of you know, our football team was scheduled to face Notre Dame College Prep in the opening game of the 2025 season—a matchup that has always been a thrilling start to the year for players and fans from both schools. Unfortunately, Notre Dame has informed us that they will not be participating in the game next year.



We were set to host the second year of this contract, but due to their schedule and a concern about starting their season with three consecutive away games, Notre Dame declined to proceed. Even after our administration offered to play the game at their home field for a second year, they opted not to continue the matchup.



While we are disappointed by this news, please know that we made every effort to preserve this cherished rivalry. This decision will not hinder the momentum of Shamrock Football as we enter an exciting new era under Coach Zbikowski.



We are actively working to secure a new opponent for the opening game and will share the final schedule as soon as it is confirmed. Thank you, as always, for your continued support.

Trying to get permission from my "source" (who isn't really a source--just more connected than I am) to post what he has heard, but I'll just say the email is partially true, but it contains some inaccuracies and lacks important context.

Regardless, disappointed they won't be playing this year. Wonder if the Shamrocks will count this email as a "W", given the inability to get one of those on the field. 😄

Well I do know Hennessey who is still the AD wanted to play this game and the “higher ups” told him no. Shamrocks may have not won in this series in a while but never backed away, Dons can’t say the same.
