I'm sure they'd still take the win!Big game on a few levels for Provi. If they win, they will be multiplied the next two years.
Nope, providence is gonna have there hands full against richmond burton!Provi wins big IMO
I’d love to be wrongR

Providence vs RB will be a better game than whoever wins and plays SF. Both teams are better than SFWith the way Providence is playing, I would not be surprised in the slightest if they win that game by 10+ points. If St Francis gets by Rochelle this upcoming weekend, that potential semi final matchup will be a good one..
Ok then.Providence vs RB will be a better game than whoever wins and plays SF. Both teams are better than SF
Both are very good teams! definitely an interesting matchup between Provi and RB. and I don't disagree, but from what I saw SF has a lot of speed all over the field especially on the outside. QB is legit too, has B1G and SEC offers, with a few D1 receivers as well. Definitely not a team to take lightly. As we saw today with the upsets, anything can happen.Providence vs RB will be a better game than whoever wins and plays SF. Both teams are better than SF
Marengo might disagree.Providence vs RB will be a better game than whoever wins and plays SF. Both teams are better than SF
St Fran can definitely beat Providence or RB but I’d rank them behind both those programs right now. Both are very good teams! definitely an interesting matchup between Provi and RB. and I don't disagree, but from what I saw SF has a lot of speed all over the field especially on the outside. I’d agree with you in the slight edge goes to RB here. Providence will have a size and talent advantage, not to mention the SOS, but they haven’t played a Mike Noll coached RB team. The RB team a year ago had a LOADED JCA team on the ropes in the semifinal. It was 20-18 with 8 minutes to go and as wide as the talent gap was last year, they didn’t have any business keeping that game close. This years RB team is better than last year and it’s a difficult offense to contain. I think RB will get enough stops to win. Can’t wait to see how this game plays out Saturday!I would give RB the slightest edge even though they're on the road.
All true but PC has a new coach and things have changed. It will be hard to stop the PC running game and if RB does not pass effectively, this game won’t be close.I’d agree with you in the slight edge goes to RB here. Completely agree with the general sentiment of your post. However, if you were to do a search on this board using Noll as a key word in posts I have authored, you would see that I have been singing his praises for years here.Mike Noll is the best coach in the State that no one talks about. He is now on his third school that he has made relevant.
I remember the days when McHenry ruled the FVC. Clearly he made a difference as they haven’t been the same since he left.Completely agree with the general sentiment of your post. RB has an excellent short passing game and they will use it.Mike Noll is the best coach in the State that no one talks about. He is now on his third school that he has made relevant.
R-B does not need a passing game to keep this close. Ball control offense and disciplined defense.
Guess the talent dried up there, huh? Seems to be a recurring coincidence when good coaches are replaced by not-so-good ones.I remember the days when McHenry ruled the FVC. Clearly he made a difference as they haven’t been the same since he left.
Why did he leave GBS?Completely agree with the general sentiment of your post. However, if you were to do a search on this board using Noll as a key word in posts I have authored, you would see that I have been singing his praises for years here.
I don't know how accurate this is, but I heard he wanted to work closer to home. Apparently, he lives way up there and it was a long commute to Glenview. King MJ might know more. Why did he leave GBS?
One of the pitfalls of living in McHenry County is driving to work close to the city. No freeways out here and too many stoplights make for long commutes. But I love living out here.I don't know how accurate this is, but I heard he wanted to work closer to home. Apparently, he lives way up there and it was a long commute to Glenview. Noll is a great coach, but he did not make RB relevant, they have been a good program for years, he has taken them on a GREAT run, but it is a disservice to those coaches before him to minimize their recordsMike Noll is the best coach in the State that no one talks about. Agree that R-B has as good of a shot as anyone to win it all…in regards to meeting SF in the semis, the Spartans need to be *very* careful with a dangerous Rochelle team this weekend. I am nervous about that game.IMO, R-B has a good chance to make a long run this year. To do so, they may need to beat Provi, St. Francis and probably SHG. If they do it, they will explode the myth that mid-size public schools can't compete with the private powers.
True, but I think the Spartans roll in that one. Does Rochelle have a grass field?Agree that R-B has as good of a shot as anyone to win it all…in regards to meeting SF in the semis, the Spartans need to be *very* careful with a dangerous Rochelle team this weekend. I am nervous about that game.
NO doubt they are on a GREAT current streak, but they were certainly relevant under both of those guys. The championship game in 2011 vs Rochester was a classic.Ramblin...I remember him being brought up in the past but I feel he deserves to be talked about in the same circles as many others.
Eirog...he left GBS when he retired from teaching. I believe he supervises Study Hall and coaches at RB.
ATrain: RB had some nice teams under Hoffman and Elder but nothing like this current streak.
Yes and it's usually in immaculate shape. Rochelle has a really nice stadium and set up.True, but I think the Spartans roll in that one. Does Rochelle have a grass field?

I’ll be shocked if they don’t let the grass grow a little this week…the old ND 2005 protocol against USC and Reggie Bush where the grass was ankle high. SF has a significant speed advantage in this one (especially on the edges), Rochelle will want an ugly game.Yes and it's usually in immaculate shape. Rochelle has a really nice stadium and set up.
