Wiilmette (Ill.) Loyola Academy junior defensive back recruit Ian Swenson (6-foot-1, 180 pounds) made a recent visit to Syracuse. Swenson fills us in on his impressions from the Home of the Orangemen and much more here.

"I was able to go out and visit Syracuse," Swenson said. "I don't have any visits set just yet. I'm thinking about maybe getting out to see either Louisville or Ohio State but I haven't set anything up."

Swenson filled us in on his impressions of Syracuse.

"I had a very good visit to Syracuse. I just loved it and they just have a lot to offer. I was able to talk with several of the coaches at Syracuse quite a bit. They told me that they have one spot left in this class at cornerback and that they want me to come back this summer and camp with them. The facilities at Syracuse are awesome and so is the campus. I really enjoyed it at Syracuse and they made a pretty strong impression on me."

Swenson also liked the Chicago connection on the Orangemen roster.

"Syracuse has a ton of Chicagoland area names on the roster. Plus some of the Syracuse coaches are from Illinois and they also have several coaches who have either coaches in Illinois or who have recruited Illinois for a long time. I definitely felt comfortable with the coaches and the guys on the team at Syracuse."

So does Swenson currently have any favorites?

"I would say my favorites are Syracuse or either Illinois or Wisconsin."

So when could Swenson make a college decision?

"I want to commit before the start of the season. I'm pretty open minded for now and I'm willing to wait and see how spring goes. I'm also considering going to some one day camps this summer."

EDGY's Take on Ian Swenson: Swenson is another kid who's spring could p[lay a big part in his next step in the process. Several Power 5 schools are intrigued with Swenson and will come into school to watch him work out. I get the feeling that Swenson could wait things out a bit and make a few bigger Power 5 school one day camps in June.
