Visited Illinois on Saturday for a spring practice along with several in 0-state names.
"I had a good visit to Illinois, It was my second visit to Illinois but the first visit with the new coaches at Illinois. I was able to watch practice and I also talked to the coaches."
"You could just sense the excitement around the football program. I was able to talk to Lovie Smith and it was just exciting to get a chance to talk top a head coach with so much experience."
"I was impressed with just the overall atmosphere at Illinois. The coaches and the players at Illinois are all pretty excited and it was good to just get to know the new Illinois coaches better. The coaches let me know that I still have an offer from Illinois. It was a good visit overall."
Does Mitchell have any upcoming visits planned?
"I'm still planning to visit Indiana this weekend for the Indiana spring game."
Mitchell also has been starting to draw some new recruiting looks.
"NIU has been in touch. Penn State and Minnesota also have texted me and it seems like those coacdhes will be in school soon along with all of the schools who have offered me."
Does Mitchell have any early favorites?
"Illinois is my favorite for now. I still want to get out and visit more schools in person. Illinois has a lot to offer and I like them a lot these days."
Mitchell also doesn't seem to be in a rush to make his college decision.
"I don't have any time frame. I just plan to see how it goes and weight all of my options."

The biggest question is can the new Illinois staff close on an in state kid like Mitchell before even more Big Ten schools get involved?
