It's playoff time and it can bring out some good and bad people.

What posters would you like to see more often and what posters are you glad left or got banned.

I would like Khalfie to return full time and I am glad IG88 and fratboy don't post anymore

Any input?

Agree on all three.

Would love to see MWittman deign us with his presence a little more often.

Miss Friarman, moc23 and AmbofQuan. Horsefeather lurks but rarely posts. Why, Charlie, why?

Not that I want him back but fratboy did say some funny things at times. And always seemed to give Maine South its props. Porters was a big Blackhawks fan and I could always talk to him about them. SCRAMBLER,WIU and some of the other LWE (or Stinkin Way East as Fratboy called them) fans I always enjoyed.

A couple old MS fans I don't miss.

Bring back MWhittman. Why was he banished? He was a really good poster...

pb,

I don't know if this is what you were looking for, but I would really like to see more posters from the St. Charles, Geneva and Batavia area show up here.

I joined a few years back after one of my sons graduated from Geneva and only saw a few people who knew the area football. With the talk about the DVC breaking up and maybe taking Geneva, Batavia and STCN into a new league I think a few more of us could be useful for spirited conversation.

That said, I have to give props to BataviaDogs. He keeps me informed and I'd like to read him more often.

I think the better thread is posters I would like to see less often!;)

There's some of us around but I began posting less and less after being stalked on this board by WIU78 a while back. That guy/girl is whacko.
After Geneva's season this year there wasn't much to post; however, I'm pulling for STCE to win 8A and hope STCN/Batavia to get beat this weekend (although I don't think Jacobs is up to the task).
Pulling for Sycamore as well...old Little Seven days.

As ramblinman said, I do stick my head out of the sewer occasionally and I can be found more often during the playoffs than the regular or off-season. I typically emerge during the playoffs in view of the fact I luxuriate in seeing some public school fans, all of whom are passionate supporters of the multiplier and success factor, seethe with anger over Catholic schools earning football titles.

I find I can be of some use when proponents of these two crackpot policies erupt with their rote condemnation of private schools during the post-season. Habitually developing as they witness their schools fall from contention in the post-season, their groundless denunciations of Catholic schools grow louder and they remain interested in the playoffs only to continue with their vilification campaign against Catholic schools. As the playoff field winnows, they mechanically follow with the demand the IHSA "do something" to deny Catholic schools from achieving what is legitimately earned on the field. Word to the adolescent daydreamers who run the IHSA: No bylaw you create can overpower natural results.

I bask in their whining.................

As far as the subject matter of this thread, I struggle with whether there is value to responding because it tends to transform into a platform where individual posters can lash out at rivals. I do, however, find this thread can be of some use to compliment some fine members here.

I am bound to highlight two posters, ramblinman and CrossBones, for their efforts here. Intellectual heavyweights, both men have broadened my knowledge of high school football and their clashes are fascinating.

I have resolved SpartyJones, MS4EVER and guerinfan are among the better posters for the reason they never attempt to goad others and their contributions are always non-confrontational. These three particularly have distinguished themselves here and are unworthy of scorn.

I have also found ESCC and CCLB posters are a fine bunch, particularly JCA and Saint Rita posters. I do enjoy their input on a wide variety of football matters and, by extension, Illinois high school athletics.

I cannot conclude this post without offering a critical assessment of a handful of posters who do impugn the schools they claim they represent, and make fools of themselves. While I have made a complete fool of myself on occasion and admit I am ashamed of a handful of posts I authored, at risk of appearing somewhat immodest, I will claim I can offer some periodic insight.

As far as the worst posters I have ever seen, they are:

privatone: An utterly loathsome creature, his post after the stabbing death of a Brother Rice faculty member suggesting the school should re-name the football field in the deceased man's honor was the most despicable spillage of digital ink I have ever experienced in the forum. The next time a MC grad or employee commits an unpardonable sin, perhaps he will see the viciousness of his words if I demand MC re-name Carey field after the MC offender. The day will come.

fratboy: In any of his incarnations, he serves no purpose here or anywhere in life. He is a perfect example of wasted talent: A goldmine of football knowledge, he wasted our time and used this forum to attack others and create mayhem. First-time posters were easily transfixed by his spectacle, but veteran posters grew tired of his timeworn act. Until the day I die, I will stand by my characterization fratboy was/is this forum's first case of syphilis.

Furmunda Cheez: Another deplorable human being, he posted because he had nothing better to do: He didn't work, he had no life, money or wife and his posts are forgettable, all consigned to the dustbin of edgy history. I suspect he no longer appears here because somewhere, out there, he violated parole and was returned up the river.

All it took was the the magical question: "Please point on the doll where the defendant touched you" from an astute prosecutor directed at a helpless but reluctant witness (male or female, who knows?) in some packed courtroom in rural Illinois. Who says the justice system doesn't work?

IG88/GoldenDomer93: The Typhoid Mary of edgytim's forum, I defended the little son of a b*tch for two years because I thought he was suffering from an incurable brain malady, birth defect or, worse, he was slightly retarded. He is none of this: He is a sanctimonious git with an addled mind who consistently violated civic decency in this forum.

His amusement in the crushing defeats HF inflicted on inferior CPS opponents was virtually unforgivable. Additionally, he could never keep his lies straight: Asked by me which dorm he was assigned at Notre Dame after he claimed he graduated in 1993, he responded: "Holy Cross Hall." I reminded him Holy Cross Hall was torn down in 1990. I never received a response in return and I didn't wonder why.

I stated above I have a handful of posts I am proud of and the one which comes to mind was the entry I added in the wake of Bolingbrook's victory over HF to conclude the 2015 season. I think I could recite it word for word at this moment..................

All4theIllini- Too funny! Stalking? How about you did not like the fact your beloved was and is still making poor choices in Champaign regarding coaching selections which I pointed out years ago. Along with how academic recruits were treated as second class if they were from within Illinois proper. I don't see where that has changed any...Iowa and Missouri stealing our kids is in full view. Sorry I guess if you were offended.

And.....here we go again.

Thank you for proving my point.

You have issues, bud. Thank God for the ignore function.

It was a down year for Geneva. North has some quality skill players and decent defense, but they almost all play 2-way and can get grinded down in the 4th if the game is close. They play physical, but don't respond well to getting punched themselves.

East is the real deal. All they may lack is belief in themselves. If they throttle the Trevians, then watch out.

Batavia is fine, but riding the coat tails of the previous few years. I think they are a glass hammer.

A merge with the smaller DVC will help the lower levels of the U8 schools who increasingly are having to schedule out of conference games in all sports, but there goes some easy wins each year on the varsity. I think Geneva is looking at this proposed merger through the lens of sports other than football. The last I had heard was that Batavia was getting cold feet, but that was several weeks ago.

I was at the Geneva/Streamwood game the night STCE came back on STCN....would've loved to see how East's OL accounted for the two monsters in the middle of North's DL. I assume they ran Jett up the gut a few times to make the LBs respect the FB dive but tried to get to the corner as quickly as possible. East mauled Geneva this year 30-0 but that (Rochelle-esque) option is a thing of beauty the way they execute it.

I try, but it is hard to keep up during season and being a math teacher for the high school. Wife just had our baby, a boy a month ago. Life is good, but busy. Seasons go by faster and faster every year.

Big lurker though, haven't missed a thread on here in a long time. Wouldn't know as much about the catholic league without this place.

I liked it when there were more WWS posters like Xenos, Bunch Formation and Mel Gray but all their kids graduated and they moved on. DaPiech is a WWS poster that still comes out from time to time.

Truly glad that WWSbob and RealDeal1979 are no where to be found, they were both the worst but RealDeal was almost on par with IG88.

3. For the "No Cutler" thread to finally die from its case of Herpes. :D

I like the Carmel posters, the Rita posters, I think it's all in good nature & have probably shared a drink with each of them at some point, but that flcowboy guy that repped Marist was kind of a pain. Haven't heard from him in a while.

Begrudgingly I will defer to the folks that witnessed and lived thru the insanity and I will make a retraction! :)

One of the most well composed observations I have "observed" here. Your parochial education has served you well. The truth of your commentary is indisputable. I don't visit often, but you made this visit stimulating.
