Not a great year for Illinois at the various All Star games

In terms of producing elite recruits, the state of IL has been pretty mediocre for a number of years and I don't expect that to change anytime soon, especially with the fewer number of boys playing football bc of concussions.

We will never again see the likes of 1986 when ND (a national power at that time and Holtz's first recruiting class) took 5 or 6 kids from the chicago catholic league alone, 2 of whom (Foley and the lineman from st Laurence) were wanted by every school in the country. Would have loved to see whether Foley could have been a star if he stayed healthy.
